You will have to be at leat 35+ to answer this question.
Do you remember an old fat bald bloke who used to stand in the North Bank and 'book' players by writing their names down in his notepad ?
Everyone used to call him Dougal and he got really annoyed when we took the p***s out of him.
He was really loud and entertaining though...and as weusually had had 6/7 pints in The Combermere before the match so we found it funny as well !
Ahhhh..the days of football violence......
Didnt the Combermere used to be known as a gay pub in those days smileys/smiley3.gif smileys/smiley17.gif

Yes I remember him, I saw him at a reserve match approx 5 years ago shivering by the bus stop on a cold winter night and I gave him a liftto WarstonesDrive, he was knocking on a bit by then.

There's a bald bloke with glasses in the North Bank down in front of me
who stands up, takes off his glasses and offers them to the ref every
time there's a really bad decision.
Then there's the guy where I used to sit who stands up and screams
"That's bo***cks!!, that's bo***cks ref!!" at the top of his voice for
really bad decisions. It used to have me sitting there chuckling away
when I should have been looking angry with the decision!!

There used to be 'Bookie' is the enclosure when I was a lad, even at reserves fixtures. This bloke was definitely off his trolley, he was SO proud when he got his brand new cards (red/yellow).
We could be talking about the same bloke, as the fella I'm talking about used to take the ref's name too. smileys/smiley36.gif

There was an old, slightly mad chap who sat in front of me in the North Bank, who when angered used to used to book players with his buss pass, screaming 'get back in your kennel! smileys/smiley5.gifAnd when really excited he would wave his stick about. He was hugely entertaing, but has unfortunatley moved due to a bust up with some chavvy blokes who sat on my row. I still see him outside the ground sometimes though. There was also a fat bloke, who all he ever used to shout was - " No pride, no passion, you dont deserve the shirt". Very true at the time, but started to grate after the 5,796th time. In one match.

dougal sits aton thefront row of the north bank.
he waits outside the north bank about 1 pm on day of match by the wolfs head in the brickwork, between steve bull and stan cullis stands.
i remember in about 1985 we were playing notts county at molineux in the central league (reserves) as the goals were flying past us (we lost 7-0)dougal was going mad big time.At the referee and line man as he called him.
last time i knew he was living down by jones rd by the science park on the stafford road.

He also stood near fairly near the pie hut in the SB before the ground was redeveloped.
First time i saw him, he scared the crap out of us.....felt spittle
spraying over us, turned round to see this loony waving his red card
and screaming at the ref.
By that time he had an entourage just waiting for him to explode. When
"X" team stuffed the 3rd goal past Wolves, you used to think "any
minute now he'll be off..." smileys/smiley4.gif
Whatever happened to the huge</span> pieman anyway?

I'm not old enough to remember this bloke. I've beena season ticket holder for about 5 years. However, an old colleague of mine told me about him. but he said he everyone shouted "Book him Brian".... not Dougal... which is right?

I remember Brian the Book as my dad called him when i was younger sitting watching a classic game v Bristol Rovers(1-1) in about 91-2 at a guess. Superb entertainment for a 12year old smileys/smiley36.gif
I remember him well, but going back a little further .....can
anyone remember a guy allso from the north bonk, think his name
was dicky?
He used to have a few before the game, and would often slash in folks pockets!!
Think he used to have a bit of orange peel in his lapel.....
and was knowen to us kids as, Dicky orange.
Happy days.
