View Full Version : Another striker to the mixing pot... Matty Fryatt Redditch Wolves 04-07-2007, 08:08 Wolves have had a £900,000 bid for striker Matt Fryatt turned down by Leicester. (Daily Star) - from BBC gossip page. Mugwump 04-07-2007, 08:17 please no. He is pants. Stewarton Wolf 04-07-2007, 08:21 Theres a theme coming through, must of missed most of the season with injury. Kenny-11 04-07-2007, 08:23 2 years ago Fryatt was the Sharp and Eastwood of his time...................... Mugwump 04-07-2007, 08:25 the walsall fans i know were over the moon with the money they got for him. He is useless. Anglian Wolf 04-07-2007, 08:33 Oh please tell me this is just the usual rubbish you expect from the Daily Star. Matty Fryatt ain't no Billy Sharp goldeneyed 04-07-2007, 08:41 Can't see how Fryatt would add any value to the squad so hope this isn't true. If it is then we really are beginning to hit the bottom of the barrel in terms of striker targets. Even if Fryatt was adequate at Championship level he would be hopeless at Prem level. We need to sign players who might be able to make that jump. Flitwick Wolf 04-07-2007, 09:43 Jasus, when he was banging in goals in league 1 this site was inundated with Fryatt threads!! Just goes to show scoring goals in League 1 does not mean they will in this league. Bugsy911 04-07-2007, 09:46 No thanks... Winelord 04-07-2007, 09:48 Has been poor at Leicester, but as Flitwick says, he was being touted as the next big thing on here at one point. Seems a strange target for us, given his record in this div. Moira Stewart 04-07-2007, 10:05 Other than being able to sing 'I predict a Fryatt' to him I see no other reason for signing him. paddingtonwolf 04-07-2007, 10:07 that story is no doubt complete crap - if we are after Sharp, Eastwood or Elliot why would we bid for an inferior product? Winelord 04-07-2007, 10:10 Other than being able to sing 'I predict a Fryatt' to him I see no other reason for signing him. Noooooo! That's like that rubbish ITV commentator that was repeatedly saying "I predict a diet" about Ronaldo at the World Cup. Wivey Wolf 04-07-2007, 10:15 that story is no doubt complete crap - if we are after Sharp, Eastwood or Elliot why would we bid for an inferior product? Didn't someone post a couple of weeks back that he was a backup if the Sharp and Eastwood bids failed? That was before Elliot was allegedley in the frame though... Brizzlewolf 04-07-2007, 11:25 That would be great. Get rid of one injury prone waste of space to Leicester and then bring one back the other way. It can't be true - its the Daily Star, hardly Vital Watford are they.....? jabbawolf 04-07-2007, 11:29 The Pardew factor may not be important - according to The Times, Curbishley's still in charge! http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/football_league/article2024985.ece Emblem's Tackle 04-07-2007, 11:38 Other than being able to sing 'I predict a Fryatt' to him I see no other reason for signing him. Please can we NEVER have an excuse to sing the Kaizer Chiefs. For this reason I have totally gone off this potential signing. Was he that bad for Leicester? Really? The Bear 04-07-2007, 11:38 If we didn't get Eastwood, then I'd take Fryatt. His 'injury' last season was to do with the way he ran, and some new insoles solved that but he was unfit after that. A full pre-season will sort that out. When fully fit he's a decent enough striker for this division. When he first signed for Leicester he was banging the goals in alongside Hume and for a team that finished just above the bottom 3. It was only one bad season due to that niggling injury. I still think he could 'do a job'. He'd be our 3rd/4th choice if true though. Bilston_Wolf 04-07-2007, 12:25 I said a few weeks ago that Fryatt was back up to Sharp and Eastwood, MM had been talking to his agent for a while, says he hates it at Leicester and would jump at the chance of a move to Wolves. Francis Munro 04-07-2007, 12:28 "Thrown into the mixing pot"? Shouldn't it be "thrown into the melting pot" Or Thrown into the mix/mixer paddingtonwolf 04-07-2007, 13:22 it's not brain science is it? Del Woppio 04-07-2007, 13:28 Hardly rocket surgery , but proberly just rumour. Francis Munro 04-07-2007, 13:39 I can't keep up, they keep moving the gates. wanderer24 04-07-2007, 13:48 2 years ago Fryatt was the Sharp and Eastwood of his time...................... In which world was this? Please no, it's like $$$$ing the ugly sister after missing out on a beautiful princess. Dr Wolfenstein 04-07-2007, 13:59 Please no, it's like $$$$ing the ugly sister after missing out on a beautiful princess. Disappointing, but sometimes necessary for the survival of the human race. Trouble is the ugly sister is often a bloke in drag. John 04-07-2007, 14:04 Disappointing, but sometimes necessary for the survival of the human race. Trouble is the ugly sister is often a bloke in drag. Floods are your fault then. Jackfoxy 04-07-2007, 17:49 Fryatt offer confirmed by Allen - not enough apparently. BBC sport website Sozzled Wolf 04-07-2007, 17:57 Thank god. Let's hope Jez & co don't improve it. Wolv3nsam 04-07-2007, 18:01 Leicester want £1.5m-£2m for him apparently. They're havin' a laugh. Sozzled Wolf 04-07-2007, 18:10 He's not worth £500k in my eyes. |
