View Full Version : Irrational liking of......

Following the Irrational hatred thread!

For me:

Villa (don't know why - just always seen them as a 'friendly' local rival and always like to see them do well)

Ipswich (I have no explanation for that one whatsoever)

West Ham (just really like Upton Park..... and their fans - or at least the majority - are great I think)

Brighton (Think I just have a lot of sympathy with the current situation with the Withdean/Falmer etc.....just like to see them doing well)

Man city, having to put up with the red lot, altho dont actually think they feel too outnumbered in manchester, as the ST survey revealed.

Bangor City (Welsh league - my official second team) Norwich (stems from their european exploit years back, that Jeremy Goss goal against Bayern Munich I think, and most of their players were brilliant in the original championship manager games!) Everton and Liverpool.

AFC Wimbledon, for not giving in to Franchisers.

I hope they make it back into the league some day and Franchise Dons get relegated to the Milton Keynes Sunday league!

Hartlepool. Years ago when flat sharing, all of us supported teams in the top three divisions, so we randomly picked ones to follow in the bottom tier to make saturday afternoons more interesting. Have no idea why I chose them. Is that irrational enough?

Haven't we done this one recently??

I have to admit to a soft spot for Brighton with their current plight and also bumping into the same Brighton fan who has no vocal chords and uses a voice box at a number of different bizarre locations.

I quite like Man U, but that dates back to the days of Charlton, Law and Best, who remains the best player I have ever seen. These days, they're the least objectionable of the so-called Big Four.

I'm quite fond of teams who keep going in places that are comparatively remote in football terms, places like Plymouth and Carlisle. I also want York City to do well, for some reason.

Bloody Hell another closet Gashead. Three on this thread...we should all go one week and double the attendance.

Middlesborough (I used to live there) and Livingstone.

I found myself at a loose end one Saturday afternoon when I was working up in Inverness a few years ago so I went to the match. It turned out that Cally Thistle's opponents were playing in our colours that day...

Yes to Bristol Rovers because of Goodnight Irene & playing home games at a different town for years. Stranraer - I only look for their results, though, when I am feeling sad. St Etienne, because they play in green. Every other one of my favourities is rational, apart from Wolves.

Barcelona - love the history, traditions, principles, plus its one of my favourite cities.
Ajax - because of all the great players they have produced over the years
Bromsgrove Rovers - because I cover them for the paper I work for
Villa - because the love-in between Baggies and Blues fans really drives me mad.
