I guess for once this season i am not going to sweat over our goalkeepings problem. This season will defo sees a really tough selection headache for Merlin. :DI am delighted at the prospects of our keepers at our disposals.:)
Murray,Hennessy and Ikeme(coming through from injury). What a selection for Merlin? What do you guys think of it?;)

If Murray and Ikeme are not fit for the start of the season we may have to go for a loan keeper to cover Hennessey.

I can't see the headache myself.
Good as young Hennessey is, he'll always be number 2 providing Murray is fit and at the club.
You've just listed them in pecking order. Ikeme's shown promise, although he wasn't very impressive when he was on loan at Stockport a couple of years ago. Hennessey will be good but both are a world behind Murray at the moment.
To sum up, there's not gonna be goalkeeping problems in the sense of cover, but i don't think Merlin will have too many selection dilemmas

My bet is Murray will not be fit, shoulder injuries are difficult to recover from. It took me 12 months to recover from a rotator cuff strain. (I am an old dog mind:eek: )

IMO it would ideally be great for Murray to stay fit and be first choice, Ikeme & Hennessey both out on loan playing regular first team football with a 24 hour recall option, and an experienced goalkeeper (Oakes would have been fine) on-loan for back-up and first choice for the reserves.

The general opinion is it depends on Murray's fitness and I can't disagree with that. I don't rate Ikeme though

My personal guess is that Murray will play a half a dozen games before Hennessey takes over.

Not havin' a pop at him but I think that given Murray's previous record with injury he might just fall short of being fit for the start of the season... obviously i'm not the club doctor but it's just a hunch!
But with Hennessey waiting in the wings I wouldn't be too upset. It would give him yet more experience at this level and i'm positive that he wouldn't let anyone down...
Especially with his kicking (sorry Matt) ;)
Murray would have to bide his time I guess as Mick seems pretty loyal to the man in possession of the shirt.
Having two top drawer keepers fighting for the Number 1 jersey is bloody great.
Don't know enough about Ikeme to pass comment i'm afraid but he'd be third choice so not too important.

When he's free from injury the plan is for Ikeme to go out on loan, probably to a League 1 club. That is providing Murray and Hennessey are fit at the time.
