i see the Daily Express are getting in on the act
"McCarthy will be expected to lead Wolves into the Premiership next season. And with that in mind, Morgan will sanction a £4 million swoop for Southend's free scoring Freddy Eastwood"
£4 million?!

Mate of mine said he had already been spotted looking for property on the mobile home park down Pendeford Mill Lane ;)

£4 million. That's ridiculous, surely. It better be £2m up front and another £2m once he's won the world cup with Wales or something.
certain that earlier in the season he was being touted at around that price. But VIP champs league final tickets were gettin touted at 5000 euros in the week so using that formula, that'd make Eastwood worth about 100 quid.
Seriously though, he's had a season in the championship that was nothing more than average, and an average season in this division doesn't make you worth 4 million.
if we have him, 2 million max

'mobile home park down Pendeford Mill Lane' - ooooh that brings back memories. That where Poole Wolf finally became a man back in 1965!!!!!!

That's too much- we'd be mugs to sign someone who had a poor second half to the season for that much.

Also, he as being seen down Oak lane, K'ford & Smithy lane, Pennsnett.
4 million - No, No, No.
He's not worth 4 million. I hope we won't consider paying that for him.

Again its not your money, this isn't a bleedin co-operative - what does the price tag matter ? but also again Eastwood is not the quickest striker out there and isn't the choice of an ambitious club (which I think we are now)

4million? I would get Sharpe and McBride (2 in 1)

Of course it matters how much we spend. If you spend £4mill that leaves you with £26mill, the more you spend the less you have left, it's simple. SO be shrewd with the cash and it'll go alot further.

It was in the Daily Express!!
The same paper that has a front page splash today having a go at a tv company for 'cashing in on Diana's memory'.
Unbelievable.

MM wouldn't pay £4m for him, obviously every player we are linked with now will have at least £1m added to the story because of the new owners we've got.

The idea of a wolves discussion board is to discuss any news about wolves. Are you suggesting because its not my own personal fortune I am not allowed to contribute to a discussion thread about if Eastwood at 4 million would be too much money to spend? Bizarre.
Unfortunately, it seems you haven't taken notice of what we achieved last season on a shoestring budget, compared to how little we achieved when we spent big under a succession of managers.
Eastwood would be a good signing, but only at the right price (like any player). Anything above 2 million is a bit of a waste. Personally I'd use that to my advantage and play Scunthorpe and Southend off each other to get the price down.
As has been said before the 30 million pound cash injection will be over a period of time. Realistically the maximum we'd spend this summer would be 5 million. The remaining money could be spent on a combination of wages, transfer fees and investing in our youth setup for the next few years.
So if thats the case and you gave McCarthy 5 million to spend, would you be a bit cautious of throwing 4/5ths of your summer budget on 1 player?
The way I see it - we need 2 strikers! We also need a left back, a right back, and a left sided midfielder (I have a sneeky suspicion McIndoe might be on the way out).

Not to mention at least one centre back.

Hey!! it IS a monday after all! we all know the express like to keep us up to date with the goings on in this world. thats why every monday we hear a story about Diana!
On the £4 million front, i'd be suprised if we spent that much on him. if sharp is rated around £2.5 million then £4 million for eastwood is ridiculous.

£4 million, this is Freddy and not Clint we're talking about?
Not in a million (or 4) years.
