... a bit of discussion on Talksport about it today...

1. Would we get big bucks for him, or another 'responsible' £2m sale with clauses.

2. Would we all be as calm with it as the sale of Lescott?

Personally not sure about no 1- although I would not be no.2.

Wednesday will be important to say the least regarding the future of him, let alone the club as a whole.

The emphasis is clearly on 'TALKsport', Kightly is going nowhere.

Riots if we sell him for $$$$ty lescott style deal, and pretty much if we sell him at all. We do not need to sell.

Abso-bloody-lutely right. Trigger's gonna be a die hard Dingle for at least another season

He's already stated that he is happy to sign a new deal, he's going nowhere.

I can't agree with you there. How the hell is Moxey supposed to make his much needed bonus payment if he can't sell any players? You don't expect him to live off his tiny basic salary, surely?

Look, Kightly's good, I love the way he plays and his passion for the game and the club. But Ryan Giggs he's not. He makes mistakes, he's still learning. He had a couple chances on Sunday that a better player might well have put in. Not blaming him or anything, so don't jump on me. He's my favorite player for Wolves at the moment. What I'm saying is that people valuing him at 10 million or whatever is just ridiculous. He's a good winger, maybe premiership quality, definitely good at this level, but let's not go over board.

He's going to be here for the near future, and we're hopefully going to be able to see if he's premiership quality starting next August.

Well, it should be, but with the money flowing round the premiership next season and the way some chairman let their managers spend anything is possible!

Tell it like it is ! lolol

PS Kightly £10m ? yeah and Gascoigne is signing for Barcelona - he's completely unproven - played a few games out of the conference and its £10m !! - complete idiots !

Don't think Kightly would've signed a deal in May if he was gonna be leaving in June or July. No doubt that with the impact he's had he's probably worth a couple of million at the moment, if he keeps going though then in 2 or 3 seasons we could have a winger worth 6m+.

I'm sure he'll be here for a while yet though, think someone would have to offer over the odds to get him right now, somewhere around the 4-5m bracket

Big Sam ét all of mid table type Prem clubs will fancy a punt in close season......and he will be on his way....like we kept one of our 'real own' last season...Lescott anyone?

Lescott needed premiership football, as has been shown by his excellent debut season. He was injured when we were up, we came down and he gave us 2 good seasons and was easily the best defender in the Championship, but he could've jumped ship had he wanted to. Wasn't his fault that we were underperforming, Kightly won't go yet, only been here 6 months.

Sign kightly up on a longer deal and by the end of next season he'll be worth 6 million. We're talking about a winger who will get you 15 goals in the championship. He will improve next season and be worth a lot more.

But we had to sell Lescott because we needed the money. We don't need the money now- we are breaking even.

And we sold seol and naylor and clarke.
This adds up to 7.4 million.

Not having a go at Kights, but to suggest he's valued at over 2million at present is a joke. At times he's still so amaturish with his play and shows his inexperience regulary.

Not to say he won't get better (he's just came from the conference ffs), but at the moment he's nowhere near being the complete article.

I can't see Kightly going anywhere, he said in plenty of interviews since joining that hes happy and wants to sign a long-term deal. Given a full pre-season at this club, hes going to be electric next season.

Players are ambitious, I'm sure Kightly is too, and will be looking forward to playing in the Prem at some point. If he's advised to go this summer (if we don't go up), and he takes that advise, I'd be very disappointed, but not surprised, as its the nature of the beast these days.

However, I would HOPE that he's getting sensible advise, and he has an element of loyalty in him to the manager that gave him his big break.

I expect to see Kightly here for at least one more season, IF we fail to go up this and next season, and IF he continues to impress (more teams will be aware of him this season, and wil try to compensate for him, therefore, making it harder for him to be as effective), then he'll move on, for what I would imagine would be a large profit.

Does anyone know his length of current contract?

He signed a 2 and half year deal if I remember correctly.

Funny Lescott's name comes up. Last season according to this board his legs had gone, he'd lost pace and he would never get back to the form he had before his injury. A decent manager playing him to his strengths has seen him improve immensely. Rose tinted spec sales have obviously gone up around these parts.

we're only breaking even BECAUSE we sold lescott, naylor etc. i.e. without those sales we would have been over £5mil in the red for the last year. with crowds considerably down this year i would say that we are once again losing money, despite the wage bill being slashed. having said that, i dont think moxey is looking to sell anyone for big money, especially with a potential takeover around the corner.

That's the same $$$$ing thing i saw how Seol adjusted to life in the prem.
$$$$ Hoddle for his formation.

I don't recall many people advocating we play him at left back?

Also, I have no concerns Kightly will leave in the summer. He seems to have his head screwed on and I think he knows he needs at least another season at this level (assuming we don't go up of course!).

wolves85nb

He definately needs a full season in the Championship to flourish. Can't see many Prem clubs eyeing him up as a first-team starter this summer, maybe as a prospect though (but defo not for £2m)?

Kightly is going nowhere (although would consider a £10 million offer). Let's talk about getting Lescott back instead once we have a new owner.

Dean Saunders was raving about Kightly on R5 Live on Sunday, never having seen him play before. Reckoned he wouldn't remain at Championship level for long.
