I saw a post with someone saying that they don't think home advantage accounts for much in the playoffs.

As much as I'd like to believe that, and I honestly believe we have every chance, this stat is a little worrying:

No team in play off history has EVER turned round a deficit after defeat in the home game.

It doesn't mean it can't be done.

First time for everything, and why not Wednesday. Even the Albion fans have said they'd be worried if this was a one off game. Well, with only one goal in it, it's just become exactly that.

It all depends on the first goal. We score it, game on::D they score it, game over.:(

My Bennie mate made a good point on Sunday, in that we'd be screwed if there was the Away Goals rule. Even if we'd have drawn on Sunday we'd still have to go there and win to go through, if we win the least we'd get is penalties, a lottery.
I really do fancy us 3-1. Stoke and Wednesday won there and they will be nervous as hell.

We better win by 2 then. I'd rather buy a lottery ticket than trust our lot for the spot

Exeter 0 - 1 Oxford United
Oxford United 1 - 2 Exeter

Exeter win 4-3 on pens

and Oxford scored first in their home leg.

Is that a Championship stat, because I remember about a decade ago now Bradford lost their home leg to Blackpool 2-0 and then proceeded to win 3-0 away from home.

Were going to win, stat's mean bugger all at this point.

I have this feeling that I've not had for a long time . . . .

I'm really quite serene about this because I genuinely believe that we are going to win there on Wednesday. It is after all West Brom's to lose now, and that has odd psychological effects.

Wednesday night is going to be the Baggies Jacob's Ladder, when they go mental, implode and destroy themselves.

The stat from yesterday means a bit, but I agree with the sentiment.

It only takes a second to score a goal so as long as wea re level come 89 minutes 59 seconds then hope springs eternal.

They've got to win, they're favourites and are expected to win. If they don't their "fans" will turn on them and they'll probably lose their better players at the end of the season.

We don't have to win, we've had a much better season than we expected, we've lowered our expectations at last and we won't be turning on Big Mick if we lose.

The pressure is on the Boggies Wednesday night!

I also have a strangely calm and serene feeling about this game. My gut feeling is that we are going to do it. I felt like this before Derby and Preston away this season. Despite losing I think the team feel fearless. Yesterday they didn't play like a team feeling nervous about such a big game, they also played without fear against Birmingham and Leicester. 2-0 to us on Weds night, both goals in the first half on a night when nothing goes right for Albion and Wayne plays a blinder.

I wish I had the confidence that you guys seem to have about Wednesday. I can't see us keeping a clean sheet so would have to win by 2 clear goals or go to penalties! Our record with penalties this season is hardly inspiring.

if it took penalties to separate us from West Barcelona Albion I would say that was a clear indication of just how far we have come.

I'd have taken a draw or even a one goal deficit before the Molineux game. I just wanted us to be still in it going into wednesday.

I fancy us playing away. Don't know, we seem to have exactly the right head-on and there is no real pressure to "perform" for the crowd.

The more i've been thinking about the more pessimistic I get but i'm going to snap out of it and stick with my original positive thinking. 2-1 to us after 90 mins, 3-1 to us aet.

paddingtonwolf

so it has never happened, except in division 1, division 2 and conference playoffs.

I've been looking for words to describe it but 'serene' it is.
I had it last time we went up even when we were still mid table and even the home and away games against reading when all around me finger nails were getting bitten off.
Don't worry we will do it and how much sweeter will it be to finish the first step at their place!!!!!
