Sorry mate, can you mark this thread "OT", just so the sensitive souls on here don't think we've signed a new Spanish striker called Federico Extras. Cheers.

no. i purposely never do that for 2 reasons.

1, most importantly, it $$$$$es of the webgeeks

2, at the top of the thread it says topic: extras

3,hover the mouse over it on the main screen for a second and all is clear!

I think last nights was the worse so far to be honest, i think its been
superb so far and the bit where Gervais and Kate winslet got caught out
was the best bit so far.

Extras is a quality programme, one of the few shos on TV that actually makes me laugh out loud, probably the only one, at the minute, actually!

The first series of the office is markedly better than the second. Extras is poor by comparison.

its not for comparison. its one bloke who stars in two totally different comedies

Boll*cks to both statements. The Officeseries one was a breath of fresh air to British comedy, and as such,is seenas intrinsically better than series two. Series two was more difficult to write, following the success of series one, and still got rave reviews. Therefore, in many ways, it's more superior, because it had more to live up to.

You can't compare The Office with Extras, they've been made in completely different contexts. It's like comparing Noel Gallagher's work with the Inspiral Carpets withhisOasis career.Edited by: Deutsch Wolf

See, I told you whitemouse. You've confused the poor mite. Clearly the thread title "extras", without the much required "OT", has distressed him. Shame on you.

I saw the first episode of Extras and thought it ok.... Can Gervais play anything different to Brent though????

He seems to me to have one character and that includes his stand up stuff or is this how he intends it to be?

Don't get me wrong i liked the office and laughed out loud as well but i struggle to watch the repeats of it and to be honest he is starting to get on my nerves....

p.s i'll watch next weeks extras, whens it on again?Edited by: hampshire wolf

Personally I don't rate Extras much, good in parts, but not a patch on the Office.

I think if Gervais had done it before The Office it would have sunk without trace.

extras is OK, i think it is definitely getter better as it goes on.

The office is the best comedy ever written, but i do remember the first few times i watched it I felt similarly as I do about extras now. definitely a grower. Gervias is very funny, but some people need a joke to jump out of the telly and smack them around the face (this is why they watch 'friends') and they cant decipher the irony in Gervais' comedy.

I didnt like the office too much but i do actully think Extras is a pretty funny show especally the episodes with kate winslet and Ross Kemp starring in them and the way they took the mick out of themselves was pretty good and this is from someone who also watches freinds.

I don't like either, I think that it is because I can't get passed the man himself, his arrogance. It's clever in it's reflectionof life, but not particularly funny to me.
