Well, had you heard of him before he joined Arsenal? Maybe, just maybe it's possible that David Dein approached the England manager of the time, who was highly thought of and had played under Wenger at Monaco, and asked him what he thought of the squirrel-like professor. Clearly he said something positive, because I don't think he'd have gone there if Hoddle had said "I think he's a $$$$$$ who won't fit into English football".

Hoddle is highly regarded within football and rightly so, he is Wolves manager after all!

I thought it was somewhat amusing, and decided to guage everyone else
views on the matter.
What he actually said may have been valid, but added to the fact he has
been on SSN virtually every other day this week, speaking on a variety
of different matters, for the first time, I saw slightly why other fans
sometimes think he is arrogant or just not very likeable.
