Bad news for football fans then.
ITV is by far and away the worst broadcaster of football on this planet.
Steve Rider was past his sell by date in the 1980s. Andy Townsend, Ally Mccoist and Terry Venables are also pretty awful.
Adverts every ten minutes and then you have to put up with the worst football co-commentator on the planet, David Pleat.
Surely ITV will sort itself out by then and employ some decent pundits and presenters. Maybe Lineker will get poached or maybe they'll give the lead anchorman role to Matt Smith who is highly underated imo

But you're right ITV are cak at Football as they are at most programmes!
We can only hope that they get SJM in on the ahem, action...

Not great news, the BBC FA cup football in HD has been excellent lately....whereas ITV have packed up their test HD channel altogether.

I could put up with ITV's coverage when they still had Big Ron - he seemed to make up for all their deficiencies. Shame he didn't know when to keep his gob shut.
I'll be buggered if I'm going to subscribe to Setanta though.

its a shame, ITV football is pish. and gabby has just joined the BBC as well. while i hate commentary from Motty, Lawro, and Mark Bright, the other BBC commentators are pretty good.

They have already won the rights to 2 of the 6 packages for premiership football next season and they have had the scots prem for a while.
At the end of the day its just more money for the average fan to pay on top of sky sports if they want setanta as part of their digital package.
