Evening,
We have been granted use of this BB as linked below.
It's almost identical to the E&S's forum, just with a different layer.
It has PM's, Polls etc etc

is better or not - until we are restored to our homeland this place has
become our spiritual home and no false gods are welcome here.
Anyway the "our community" logo at the top would look more at home on a White Supremacist website's message board.

Already suggested that (the forum is nothing to do with me).

I had a look, like others I don't like boards with massive graphical signatures and stuff. Wombourne seems to be at home though. smileys/smiley17.gif
The funniest thing was the mod trying to big up the number of posters. There were 5 on the board when I looked, but the mod tried to claim there wer 400, many regulars. Then I saw:

When you consider the most on MM was something like 564 there's no comparison.
I think this one is fine as a temporary home, that other one looks shocking and the rules hardly inspires you to overlook this fact.

I think the board can be set up to look exactly the same as the old MM.

I wouldn't hold my breath. As the complaint was straight to the E&S management, I doubt whether they'll be in a hurry to reintroduce a loss making facility.

To be fair the moderation on everything to do with wolves finances, esp SJH involvement was shocking, I'm not surprised someone complained, be it the club, Chaucer or someone on behalf of SJH. Idiots like Ulven and Brighton went way too far, way too often, to be fair to essex he isnt the sharpest tool in the box and probably meant no harm, the other two did.
As for the E&S, was it really loss making? Didn't the sheer numbers help them with page impression stats etc and lead to more hits and more advertising revenue? Now the sports section is 24 hours behind there is very little reason to go there now?</DIV>
However I don't believe that MM will be returning in the near future.
Then they will have lost what had become the best Wolves chat site even
despite getting silly with bans, etc. lately. Either this one or
another site will take over and be known as the voice of the fan and
E&S will have lost that credibility.
This is like the days of rock and roll where radio stations would not
play certain music and so enter the pirate radio stations and the rest
was history.

1/ Not officially, but it apparantly was JM.
2/ Personally I thought Leicester was the worst of the lot. Ulven was on a wind up, Brighton just agreed with Ulven, Essex is Essex, but Leicester pretended to be an ex potential investor who'd somehow been given all this inside info.
3/The E&S Management will decide that they would prefer to keep the Club on their side, rather than a few geeks who talk about loo paper all day. It is "Britains largest regional newspaper outside London", so I doubt the revenue from Web Advertising will sway them. I would be pleased, but rather surprised if it came back at all.</DIV>

In 5 years only the bull$$$$ about SJH was really worth moderating. The E&S chose not to, ulven was banned 12 months ago for libellous comments, waited a few months and then came back on spouting the same crap.
I don't think a moderated MM would be an issue for anyone, most of the stuff is ok, its just the constant accusations of dodgy dealings that would be deleted and that should have been the case anyway. MM has done a lot of good for a lot of charities and helped a few people in their time of need, the E&S should remember that and not let a few paranoid, lying geeks ruin it for the several hundred others who use the site.
I think the E&S will reinstate MM and hope they do, Aidan may go OTT occasionally but I think he would be far more tolerant than anyone setting up their own board.
Its also in wolves interest to have a board that is moderated by a responsible company IMO, shutting MM down moves any potential problems to various other sites.
Finally has anyone (5150 perhaps) had a reply from Aidan that suggests this is a permanent thing?</DIV></DIV>

Realistically, it's also in the club's interest to have the major BB on Wolves moderated and run by the likes of E&S, for the very reasons we saw yesterday. They have a hold over the E&S in terms of providing news stories, and can therefore have some say in what can and can't be said. Unless something is outright libellous (which I don't believe the comments on MM to be, Ulven apart), they'd find it difficult to shut down an independent site.

Both the club and the E&S need to realise that removing MM for good would be a major PR blunder. There are up to 1000 registered users and probably hundreds of other non-registered readers. That is what made it the biggest and best online community for Wolves fans far and wide. By denying the fans the chance to discuss the club and voice their opinions, they will create a lot of bad feeling about the way the club is run and the contempt with which it sometimes treats its fans. The E&S forums were amongst some of the best forums anywhere on the internet (and I've seen more than a few in my time).
As LIQ says, it is in their interests to have a well-monitored and moderated forum rather than driving it underground where discussions could get truly out of control.
IMO, the E&S as the most important local media company has a public duty to the people of the Black Country to support the online community it created and has become a valuable tool for those who have left the area but want to stay in touch with their roots. The media is always bleating about the 'public interest' and free speech. This is a chance to stand up for what they preach.
The Molineux Mixers are now a displaced people forced to wander the earth in search of a new home - I'm sure it would make a great film. smileys/smiley4.gif

I understand that Aidan hasn't got a lot of info at the moment - the decision was made over his head. There are suggestions that the situation will be reviewed in a few weeks time, but there are no indications as to which way the decision will go.

The E&S is an independant newspaper/news forum. Unless something someone said on the original MM thread could have caused a lawsuit then I can see no reason for the closure.
Most of their news items were copied and pasted from WOW anyway.
When was the last time the E&S broke a story before you and I read it on WOW or MM, so why are they worried about a falling out with the club. They should rather be questioning why they are getting outside pressure to close a DISSCUSSION FORUM posted on by fans of the club!
The E&S sport section is $$$$$ anyway, bunch of copy and pasting losers! EVENING MAIL BARMY ARMY!

Agree totally......MM has helped alot of people out ,mainly from the base of core posters who have hearts of gold (I will never have a bad word siad about them when the whole Grizz thing went around).
However,there are always a few that spoil it for the majority.

If they had provided adequate moderation (ideally you need 2-3 people
who can monitor at different times) with stricter rules it wouldn't
have been abused so much.
Yes people would have cried about it at first but it would have
generated better discussion with virtually no
name-calling/trolling/duplication, and the atmosphere would have
benefitted in the long run with less people leaving and more people
joining and staying due to a 'safer' atmosphere to post in.
People who say it would ruin the banter etc are talking crap. It would
just make it more civilised banter without degenerating into petty
arguments all the time.
At least that's my opinion/2 cents for what it's worth.

I would recommend getting hold of Spybot S&D, Lavasoft Adaware Pro SE and Hijack this, as well as Toolbar Cop. Also try and download the beta Microsoft Anti-spyware program.
Spybot and AAPSE should get most of it but you may need Hijack this toget rid of anything nasty thats sitting in the registry. Toolbar cop is useful for removing programs that the control panel won't shift.
Update them regularly and stop using Internet Explorer (use opera or firefox), add a firewall like Sygate or Kerio and use an online scanner like Panda or Trend Micro's Housecall. Scan any incoming files by running an antivirus scanner like Avast or AVG.
Also get something like CCleaner, and run 'prefetch' regularly- your pc will start running much quicker.

I seem to have noticed we had more problems after MM got rid of Shewolf.
Did seem a bit daft that the list of posters increased alot,but Aidan was left to moderate.
Having said that if certain posters thought before they posted this whole mess could have been avoided.....but hey,at least there are less OT posts and it is something else to talk about other than the lack of signings,doom and gloom etc.......oh that would mean Essex would be back,perhaps not !

True , but the moderating must have become a nightmare....just sifting through the endless OT threads for starters.

There's no reason it can't be done. It just depends on the people. I was actually thinking of larger more successful boards.
See www.thedvdforums.com for a good example. Loads of sub-forums on all
topics but it's run very strictly by a few moderators for each forum
with no toleration of people trolling/padding/duplicate
threads/swearing/insults etc and there's hundreds of members on there
at any one time who all get along. 340 on there right now - gone
midnight!!

Hi All - just landed!
Thanks to FW for directing me here.
For what it`s worth I sent an Email to Aidan yesterday evening - in order to get his take on the "Fear and Loathing from the Molineux Mix" - but as of yet - nothing.
Despiteall the niggles and handbags - it would be a shame if the MM did not either reappear or if necessary reinvent itself - maybe here?
Anyway - I haven`t yet taken stock of how many of the MM have migrated here - but whoever - catch ya later -
