All these and many more have special places in the hearts and minds of the good folk of Wolverhampton... When you hear this afternoon the Molineux erupt singing "WE ARE WOLVES!!" .... These are the names they are referring to. They ARE Wolves!! One Hundred and thirty years of history ... A history whose proudest moment must have been without question the 1950's......

".... Captained by Billy Wright, Wolves finally claimed the league championship for the first time in 1954, overhauling local rivals West Bromwich Albion late in the season. The club was described by some as the greatest football team in the world after beating the Hungarian side Honvéd 3-2, having been 2-0 down at half time. Spartak Moscow, Dynamo Moscow and Real Madrid all came to Molineux and were beaten. Wolves were also league champions in 1958 and 1959, and in 1960 became the first team to pass the 100 goal mark for three seasons in succession."

I'm not saying that we have even a shadow of that team today ... all we have is a group of kids who wear their hearts on their sleeves and the head of a Wolf on their chest... Today, they need to give of their very best. It's all we ask. If they can do that and we do the impossible and win, their place in Wolves history is assured. Merlin will be crowded a true Magician. The name of the goal scorers will long be sung from the terraces of our great stadium. Children watching, will commit there lives to Wolves, like so many of us have done in the past... Old men will die happy ... Jeff Astle will turn in his grave....

This my friends is THE turning point of our season. There is nothing more important...

Don't do it for Sir Jack... Do it for Wolverhampton. Make us proud!!!

Murray, Henry, Collins, Edwards, McNamara,Kightly, Potter, Olofinjana, McIndoe,Keogh, Ward...

ALL OUR FAITH, ALL OUR HOPES AND FEARS ARE WITH YOU. ...

LETS STUFF EM TODAY!!!!

WE ARE WOLVES !!!!!!!!
WE ARE WOLVES !!!!!!!!
WE ARE WOLVES !!!!!!!!
WE ARE WOLVES !!!!!!!!
WE ARE WOLVES !!!!!!!!

I'm starting to feel a 'little' excited myself. But I couldn't have written that! I'll just dress my family for battle see you all later. Onwards and upwards. :) What a week for Fiskerton FC to have a fixture free weekend, perhaps there is a God, from the Black Country.

Wolves 1 - 1 $$$$e

I think our winning streak is going to end on Sunday. The lads are really going to be up against it ,but I think that they'll have learnt from the last time and get an admirable draw.

A victory imo would give a huge boost to the confidence of the team and would drive the team on to get a play-off place.

Start booking your London hotels if we win this one.

Apologies Highlander... my pathetic attempts pale into insignificance next to yours...
