Wolves are now favourites with every bookmaker after the first two games of the season. Generally 4/1 or 9/2, Norwich remain our closest rivals while Palace and Southampton have slipped considerably. Sheffield United have moved in to as low as 6-1 with some bookies based merely on the fact they beat 2 mediocre teams.
It's got to be an over-reation surely? Two games is nowhere near enough to judge a promotion campaign on.
After all, the bookies only have to read this board to see what a dire state we are really in. smileys/smiley2.gif

Crystal Palace surprised me with their quality. They will be there or there abouts barring a miracle.
Then again, our resiliance and ability to win when not playing well has surprised me!

4 points off the 2nd and 3rd pre season favourites for promotion in the
opening 2 games, with Norwich failing to win in the same period. Of
course the price is going to be trimmed slightly. It doesn't matter if
we were fortunate or dominated both games. They are points Wolves have
and points Norwich and Palace haven't.
It also probably respects liability most firms have on Wolves. I
couldn't get in a Taxi for the last 3 months without the driver telling
me he'd backed Wolves for the title. Personally of what I've seen of
the division so far I'd be happy to lay anyone. It looks like being
just as tight and close as I thought it would be.

We were favourites last year, so damn what?
Thank God I wore my corset, otherwise I fear my sides would have split.

Only because we had our beautiful little little boy Henri, oh I do miss him so..... smileys/smiley19.gifsmileys/smiley19.gif

Luton got 6. smileys/smiley2.gif
You're right, I'd expect our odds to be trimmed. Not sure Sheffield United should have plummeted to 6-1 purely because they beat Leicester and Burnley though. As you say, at the moment I would be laying rather than backing.

As SFS said, it probably reflects the money laid. A couple of good results, and it's the punters who respond, causing the bookies to reduce the odds. I suspect there has been no large rush to back Luton....
