According to the E & S, highly probable. Probably going to be out for longer than expected, probably won't be back until near the end of the season. By then I would imagine it would be too late for him to impress for a new contract. Sad for the lad, but can't say I'm too surprised, could've been a great Wolves player, but has gone the same way as so many players before. Out injured too often. Showed great promise initially, but never really shown it since Jones left.

Sounds to me like he's a goner come the summer, shame in hindsight that the move to Palace fell through earlier this year.

Why do you say that? We re-signed Ndah on a pay-as-you-play contract, I don't see why we wouldn't do the same with Cort. He'll have realised by now that his days of being a big-earner are well and truly over and I'd say he's more likely to sign for Wolves than he is for any other club.

If you believe the rumours, the deal fell through because he failed a medical, though thats usually made common knowledge. so why it wasn't that time is anybodies guess! The official version was Cort didn't fancy it, and wanted to stay here. Either way, the club isn't to blame for him staying, so there wasn't much we could do about this one!

But that didn't particularly work well for us in the end, and it was also when there was a bit more money about. If I remember rightly, Ndah got a wage based on bonuses for appearances, not solely pay as you play. He was still given a basic wage. With the current restrictions, I can't imagine us being that benevolant.

On a pay if you are fit for selection deal, with an increase if picked I still think he might go for it.

Hear hear.

He's the last of the 'big earners' left after the summers mass exodus, let him go and be injured somewhere else for the rest of his career.

So whilst he wasn't fit at all in that last season he didn't get a penny? Fair enough if that's true.

Shame if Cort is finished but in all honesty he has been poor this season and whilst his injury may be part of the reason why I can't say he will really be missed.

Whilst my information gathering credibility has fallen through the floor as of late (just ask Wivey :D), I'd say it's pretty likely (bordering on 'every indication') that Cort failed the medical.

No great shame, sorry if he is a genuine lad but hardly think that he cares much for us.

I think he's a goner, shame as I feel he is one of the long list of could-have-been-great players for Wolves. No doubt he'll sign for Sheff Utd or somebody and magically recapture his form and keep them up, or go to Cardiff because of Jones and help with their final promotion push when he gets fit at the end of the season!

Along with Jackie Mac,the last of the highly paid players whose contribution has been far outweighed by their cost.

Get rid.

When he does return from injury it always seems to take him 5 or 6 games to get match fit or "up to speed"

I always hoped he would do well - and to be fair, he did have his moments.

But...he's not a 'Wolves' type player if you know what I mean. We like a runner and a tackler and a bit of passion. That is not Carl Cort.

So be it...

i would have thought Captain Craddock was on a tidy sum given he signed in the premiership season, and I know Jack Oakes signed his initial deal for £8,000 a week which again presumably went up in the prem, and like season tickets, did not re-adjust following relegation.

Spot on. A player who has certain attributes that sucessive wolves manegers have not used to the full potential. The Cort-Camara partnership was one of the highlights of the last few years.

Thinking back through all of Cort's goals that I've seen, I can't remember any really long range shots. I don't remember Cort coming deep for the ball and beating defenders to score, I also can't remember him going out wide for the ball and cutting into the area to score. Most of his goals that I can remember were close range efforts, headers and tap-ins. So it was probably of no use at all to; play Cort out wide, play Cort as a target man or play long balls down the channels for Cort to chase.

I don't rememember Lineker doing any of these things either he was a goalscorere and at times so has Cort. I've seen Bothroyd and Johnson score spectacular goals, but they've never looked like being prolific.

Cort is a good player who is an easy target because he seems lazy, a crying shame that he's injured just as we start to get some width.

Waste of Talent, Blake.

Ooh but it was such a hard job he had to do as target man etc.

It'd have a damn sight easier if he'd stayed on his feet once in a while and got on with the game instead of haranguing the ref.

All the skill in the world. Should have been too good for us.
