Can't see this posted anywhere, not surprised by his comments. he knows Wolves have stuck by him when other clubs could have let him go after all his injury problems. Lets hope he stays on at least one more season if we fail to go up this.

'i've still got a year and a half left on my deal* and im more than happy to stay here as long as Wolves feel it is right for them.'

Unless he signs a new contract (which is doubtful) I hope he doesn't stay for another year. I hope they sell him and give the money to the manager.

What exactly has he said, because there's a whole heap of difference between staying until your contract runs out, and signing a new contract. Hopefully he'll sign a similar kind of deal to Lescott, where we get to keep him for next season and get a shed load of cash if we don't get promoted.

I think that depends on what arrangments the board and McCarthy have come to. If they (the board) have told him he can have most if not all of the Murray money, McCarthy may well want to sell him asap. it doesn't look as if the board are going to find any serious money for strengthening from anywhere else so this could be a sensible option.

I think he rates Ikeme quite highly and don't forget Oakes is still with us, loafing about the place and generally making a nuisance of himself.

But Wolves wont want him when he asks them to double his wages else he'll vacate the premises.

How long left on his contract?

Its a funny one with Murray.

I'd never like to see a player stopped from reaching his full potential but after years spent playing only a handful of games we've stuck by him.

I'd be unhappy with him if he left to be honest. I think he at least owes us another 18 months - then fair enough.

Wolves will want to get rid and rightly so in my opinion. We need to sell our assets the way we are run at the moment and especially when we have youth players ready to replace them. Ikeme will be our number 1 next year unless we start getting sporadic cash injections from Sir Jack.

Murray is in a class of his own. I'd like to see them do another Lescott, get him to sign for another few years, but if we don't get promoted this year or next, sell him to generate funds for the future. Ikeme, while a promising young fellow, is not in the same league as Murray.

Murray's got everything except the kicking. It's not Premiership class, let alone International.
Paul Robinson isn't the worst kicker in the world, but because he's not a 'brilliant' kicker, every miscue is now getting groaned at (not counting the unfortunate Croatia bobble). I hope Murray can work on his kicking, but with goalies, you tend to either have it naturally or you can't learn it.

He will leave by the end of the next close season. Wolves are not ambitious enough, and all the Premiership sides are looking for a top quality Goalie. He will do well at another club.

I think he'll stay for another season and if we don't go up then like Lescotte it's only fair to let him go to a Prem club. I also think that if he were sold earlier MM won't see much of the money. It's funny with Wolves, one minute they are splashing cash all over the place and then they well and truly shut the purse strings. There is no middle ground with this club is there?

Just sounds like another sick note who will jump ship, with no regard to the help given....AKA J, knees gone help me out, Lescott.

Loyalty and academy players does not hold water in the modern game.

what is definitely going to happen is that the club will sell him and use the proceeds to pay a small part of Moxeys enormously fat salary and the bonus he will get from making 18th in the championship seem like a successful season.

loyalty and players don't hold water, and I don't blame them.

Football is a far cry from the sport it used to be, the atmosphere at every ground is generally on a par with a library, fans at clubs like Reading are cursing the 'plastic fans' that now fill their stadium, not knowing the names of the players on their own team let alone the opposition. Chelsea have almost monopolised competition and everyone is just fed up with football.

If I were a player I'd have all the best intentions of staying at Wolves my whole career, but who would want to play to a ground barely half full, with fans moaning if you do sign a long term contract and happen to get injured that you're a waste of wages, or don't sign one and your disloyal, little chance of any honours full stop let alone major honours? If I had big clubs sniffing I'd certainly be interested.

The clubs shell out on their assets to protect their assets- not because they think they are nice guys who deserve to get paid because they had the misfortune of getting an injury. The club looks after their best interests, the players look after theirs. By signing a contract to command a fee like Lescott did, this more than repays the loyalty shown to them giving the club exactly what the nurturing of a player is in aid of- ROI.
