View Full Version : Careful what you wish for.
Not a dig at anyone or an attempt to start the usual petty squabbling, but if you think that simply getting rid of a club's current owners will bring an upturn in the club's fortunes, then take a lok at this.

Very sad........or happy, depending on your POV.

Things certainly haven't got well for Leeds ID but from my own POV their demise is so sweet.

We all hate Leeds and Leeds and Leeds.
And yet Cardiff, Villa, West Brom, Fulham, Wigan etc etc all had or are currently having a massive upturn in fortunes after being taken over by new owners.
It all depends who the people coming into your club are.
Ken Bates and Leeds go well together and personally i'm in the happy camp. I hope they sink like a stone.
Surely part of supporting a football club is the added spice of having rivals that you dislike? In other words it couldn't it be argued that there is a need to have such clubs in competition with us?

Yes Mutchy, just not dirty horrible low life despicable Leeds.;)

I'm guessing that there won't be many posters on here in the sad camp!
Cardiff is an interesting example, I wonder where they will end up. Hamman's last club enjoyed (relatively speaking) massive success under his ownership and yet when he left they had no ground. Hamman sold Plough Lane and then later sold the club, he left the club as a wealthier man than when he was running it.

I'd be more than happy for them to swap places with Forest.

I'd go as far as saying I wouldn't mind if Rangers or Celtic swapped with them actually.;)

Can't take him seriously at all
Sacking Kevin Blackwell was an error of the highest proportion;

Agreed Kenny but maybe he was comparing him with the current stand in manager, I suppose then even Blackwell seems okay.:D

:D
I wasn't backing his judgement, I was looking at the cold facts of the price rise. If Bates manages to appoint the right man, it could all turn around again.

You beat me to it but hopefully i will be forgiven as ive posted the link to the story
Ridsdale was asked to leave Barnsley after it emerged that his settlements for over-paid players who left the club were more than generous, he has a nasty habit of paying the wages of players who no longer play for his club. Hamman has a nasty habit of trying to get planning permission for profitable development of land formerly occupied by football grounds.
