Could'nt help noticing that this young lad scored in todays friendly. I have noticed also that he's been scoring for fun for the youth team. Sounds very promising. Does anyone have any info on him or has anyone seen him play?

My mom has, he used to play keep up in her street. Scored lots of goals for the youth team and has been on ther fringes of the first team for a while. With our goalscoring problems, definately worth a look.

Nice to know that we have talent waiting to come through the system!

I've seen him play in the reserves three times last season and he is quality. He played a blinder against villa reserves when he was on the left wing and made three pin point crosses that deserved a goal, he also came close to scoring against villa.
He is tall and gangly and has good pace. Definitely a player that caught my eye and for me is ahead of players like elliot bennett. He hasn't been given much of a chance in pre season but he has talent and i would like to see him on the bench even though he has just turned 18.

Cort should be sold in the transfer window (if he'll go and we can get a decent chunk of money for him) to make room for players like this. Craig Davies should also be shipped back to Verona. I'd love to see a striking four of Johnson, Bothroyd, Clarke, and Ijaha or Hughes. If we're going to commit to this "young and hungry" thing, then let's really do it. Bringing kids up from the youth team also makes recruitment of young players easier. "Look at how many youth team players are getting first team chances", etc.

There's only one slight problem with this plan, I can't remember a team getting promoted from our division with a youth only policy. In fact the best team at bringing on young players, Crewe, frequently get relegated to the division below ours.

Apart from that it's a brilliant plan.

I know someone called Liam Hughes but he's a fat mother with the footballing ability of SBUK so I doubt it’s the same fellow.

But the young players are already getting chances:

Jones,
Little,
Gobern,
Clarke.

You promote players to the first team when they are ready, when they are as good as or better than what we already have. I am confident that they will be promoted when McCarthy thinks it appropriate.

I think it would be much harder for youth players to develop if they only ever played with their peers. They need to learn by playing with experienced pros who can nurture and guide them.

I'm not sure why anyone would want to send back Craig Davies already. He's only 20 and hasn't played much.

Sounds a very promising player and with MM giving the young players a chance then may yet see him in the first team squad soon?

He's no robbie keane though, please don't expect too much of hughes.

Looks to me as if Davies is being lined up as a winger if I'm reading the reserve reports correctly?

Robbie Keane was something special though so wouldn't expect any of our young players to be to that standard. It's a massive bonus if any are though.

Yes I've seen him play a couple of times for the reserves. Looks a good prospect

But, maybe, Crewe's failing is that they tend to sell their most promising youth players when they have broken into the first team.

Luckily Wolves do not go down this route.
