Or so say the E&S. If true, that'll mean we'll have had two "reserve" games within the opening month of the season. Has the Pontins' League even started yet?

even if it has it wont involve a wolves reserve team in it this year

Yeah, no $$$$, Sherlock. I was making the point that we could, potentially have played two reserve team games this season by this time next week, probably more than we would have done had we been in an organised league.

nuno
30-08-2006, 00:04
And when the pontins league starts will we also be playing one reserve team game per week over the next 9 months?

Looking forward, your 'point' is nonsensical.

Deutsch Wolf

Maybe it'll be more beneficial to play 15-20 games against reasonable opposition (like Northampton's first team, like we did the other week) rather than 30 odd against the likes of Accrington reserves? The reserves never played every week anyway.

I can see the logic and positives in that. Hopefully Mcnamara will get a run out in the up coming fixture. I think he said that he was aiming to be fit for the Leeds match.

Are the public allowed in to watch these matches?

Yep, the games will be played at Compton, supporters are allowed in.

Since when have you been constructive on others' opinions?

What, in your opinion, makes Northampton Town reasonable opponents?

Deutsch Wolf

They're better than Accrington reserves or Wrexham reserves.

This opinion is based upon what? What absolute tosh!

Does this mean that Man Utd/Liverpool/ should have a better reserve team than Southampton? You really do amaze me!

Northampton's FIRST TEAM, who we played a couple of weeks ago, are better than Accrington reserves. I think so, anyway. I really don't know what your problem is.

Just to prove that you're wrong, yes. Lee Harper, Sean Dyche and Eoin Jess are the Northampton players mentioned in the report. All established first team players, in fact Dyche started this evening's game against Bristol City.

Seriously, this is getting really tedious. If it makes you happy to try and start an argument virtually every evening with me, fine, but I'm not going to reply to you anymore.

Black Suit
30-08-2006, 01:41
You looked at the website! 3 Players out of 11, ah well, there's probably a few more. You make people feel inadequate when you have a go at them.

I agree with you and state so on a regular basis. Why are you so negative on certain players and managers, yet so positive on Mr Moxey?

Wow this thread has been amazing.

Funny, before the bickering I was thinking Deutsch had a point.

But yes - Brooke Satchwell - had a big crush on her back in the day. Anne Wilkinson was the character. Went out with Billy. Those WERE the days my friend.

Didn't she leave Neighbours to become a porn star?? Or was she a porn star before Neighbours??

dunno why you had to throw the sarcastic comments at me dw , but if you dont agree with something you always seem to take the $$$$ out of a individual and i'd like to know who you think you are talking to people like you do, do you feel that because you are one of the molineux mix reps on the wolves parliment you can talk to people like $$$$ off the bottom of your shoe ??

people have raised issue's and given idea's for this football club for the next parliment meeting , will you put them to the club or think up some of your own again ???

There is no need for an apostrophe when you append an 's' to indicate a plural.

If Neighbours has gone downhill from where it was it must have given its regards to the earth's core on the way by.

Rancid programme.

I'll try and keep this to words of one syllable:

We've now played two "reserve" games with another in the pipeline in the opening month of the season. People were worried in pre-season that with us pulling out of the reserve league, we wouldn't play enough games. As it is, we've played more reserve games so far than we would have done had we been in the league. That's what the thread's about. Now do one.

To be fair I think there was a valid, positive point to this thread before it got hi-jacked with pathetic bickering and ongoing keyboard battles.

Seems to me like the club have made sensible decisions in terms of the reserves and friendly games and as Deutsch said we have played more ‘reserve’ games than we would otherwise have done by this point in the season. For a club in our situation and a team who have barely played together, I can personally see the positives in this.

Sorry for the on topic post though like....

Erm....Wolves no longer have a "Reserve" team, don't play in a "Reserve" league, but do play friendlies against other clubs using squad players, older trainees and academy lads. Simple really!

I think it's a mistake and it wouldn't surprise me if we rejoined a "Reserve" league next season.

That's fine, you forgot to mention that I'm on the Wolves Parliament though.

Time will tell how many friendlies we end up playing, but assuming next week's game goes ahead, three in five weeks isn't too shabby.

Deutsch, I take your point, I also feel it is much better to play established first teams rather than Burton Albion reserves each week.
