Did anyone listen to the game on Five Live? At half time one of the commentators was praising Wolves and even said that once all our injury wows are over we should be pressing for promotion. Anyway, he also mentioned a player that MM was supposed to be after but I missed who it was. Anyone have any ideas?

Guildford...I grew up on the IOW after leaving Wolvo and so followed Pompey along with Wolves. Great fans...you'll love every game there, and don't forget to HATE Southampton!

Wasn't it in Portsmouth that a paediatrician got run out of town for being a supposed kiddie fiddler?

There seemed to be a lot of Portsmouth lads stood between The Wanderer and the subway after Saturday's game.
We all had to push through them as they were standing around blocking the path.
Think they must have been waiting for the coach back to Portsmouth.

It was Billy Sharpe. I mentioned it as well in another thread.
At half time during the Boro v Pompey match, 5-Live said that we are still looking at Billy Sharpe at Scunthorpe.
They were talking about transfer rumours and the start from the teams in the Championship. They mentioned Wolves and how well McCarthy had done so far after such low expectations.
Then they played a short interview of McCarthy with a 5-Live reporter talking about the start of the season and how he approaches games and the players.
Said that he tries to put the pressure on the players to perform rather than himself, but still gets involved on the touchline with the game so much because of how much he still enjoys the game and matchdays.
They mentioned afterwards how laid back he sounded about our start and expectations on himself, and questioned whether his experience at Sunderland last season had made him more relaxed with regards to the pressures and expectations of football management.

Thank's Bear.
Have fond memories of Portsmouth.......... caught the ferry there for France three times a year before I moved over here. Straight into the ferry terminal off the motorway mind.;)
when ive gone down there for away games it is shocking, most supporters of other clubs probably say the same about here though.
