The South coast press stated yesterday that Mandaric is severing all ties with Pompey after their game on Saturday and he is looking to invest in a new club and get back into football immediately!

Do people want Milan Mandaric at Molineux? I have no real opinion on the bloke through lack of knowledge – would his involvement be a good thing for Wolves, or would he spend the time pontificating on Sky Sports?

He'd bring some renewed passion to the board and from when I've seen him interviewed seems to have a good knowledge of football in general.

Pompey are certainly in a better position now. What about the Rix, Zelec, Redknapp soap operas though. Did Milan land lucky or was it all part of the plan?

We could possibly do with the money he probably has, but I dont really want to see us return to the old days of being big time charlies in this league and buying old men for £1-2m.
The way we are heading now is the the right way IMO, so if he did come in it would be nice to think we could afford to pay the £500k a lower league team wanted for their 'young & hungry' prospect but not £1m for an ageing premiership outcast

I'm not too sure about mandric myself..His record was about as abysmal as sir Jacks was until he bought Harry in,then everything seemed to take off for him.
One good thing about Manda though is,he's got £32m from the sale of Pompey burning a hole in his pocket at the moment......No don't be stupid,what was I thinking.We want young hungry players who will bond with the fans.

I fail to follow the argument that a new owner with money to spend is, de facto, bad for the Wolves. Surely it's the way any such money is spent which is the issue.
Ultimately, I'd much prefer an owner willing to invest in the playing staff than one who isn't.

Being serious,I would welcome Mandric to Wolves with open arms.I think he has a hell of a lot more to offer Wolves than the present owner.
Nobody knows for sure whether Mandy is really interested in taking over,but I would hope that sir Jack would do the right thing if he is.

But thats the problem. Lets say Mandaric comes in and says 'We're going to build slowly and get a firm basis for long term success'. Hard to argue with that.
But the next time we lose a match the usual suspects will appear in droves demanding that he splash the cash to prove that he's still interested and to avoid relegation, which they will claim is inevitable.

I couldn't agree more.Whilst I do buy into this 'new' Wolves to a degree,IMO the Wolves board have done an excellent job in persuading fans that spending money on players is the wrong way of approaching things.As you say,if the money we've spent had been spent correctly (and more evenly) throughout SJH's tenure,we would certainly not be in the position we are now.It seems we've now learned about the correct player profile(age,attitude etc) after the money's been wasted.If Mandaric(or anyone else for that matter) could come in and spend wisely,I'd take him in a shot.

But what do you lot know about Mandaric? What is his style of leadership? I appreciate Pompey are doing OK for themselves now but was it an easy transition? Is there a chance that Mandaric at Wolves would be a bad thing? Was his time at Portsmouth all successful, or could it have gone haywire at anypoint. Would he be commited to Wolves? We all want to see Wolves in the Premiership but I think we need to make sure any investor or appointment we consider is correct for the club – do you not agree?

It strikes me that we're no different to most fans - we ask that money be pumped in all the time, and at the slightest hint that things arent going to plan, we demand that more cash is pumped in to put things right.
