5 Live Commentator on England's Under 21's match: 'Theo Walcott scored after doing nothing all summer'. Perhaps he could have scored from the bench?

He seems to have come in for a lot of criticism and p#ss taking, most of which it totally unwarranted. Sven is the one they should be targeting. Do they think he should have turned down the offer to join the England squad at the World Cup?

I doubt the commentator meant it to sound so nasty really, just not really thinking about what he was saying. I hope.

He is one for the future - he'll be paying for Sven's mistakes for years in the tabloids!

Nail on head.
Nail on head.
be fair! No one would turn down the chance to play in the world cup, especially when they're manager had said they were good enough for the team.
Sven is the idiot that listened:mad:

Was David Dein on the FA selection panel for the World Cup squad?

selection panel? this isnt cricket.
all this walcott bashing is all sven's fault, he's lucky he has a good head on him, other kids could fold under the pressure

I think you will find that there is a FA committee panel, ok maybe not a selection panel and David Dein is on this panel. Rumours that I have heard are that David Dein had something thing to do with Walcott going to the World Cup, although Sven has the final say and I agree with you it is his fault.
