Based on todays friendly would like to see the following team:

Murray

Edwards Breen Craddock Naylor

Rosa Henry Olifinjana Clapham

Bothroyd Davies

Subs: Oakes, Clyde, O'Connor Ricketts, Frankowski or Clarke.

really difficult to argue with that - unless we sign Senda very quickly today, in which case he goes right and Rosa replaces Henry, I guess.

A bit hard to say having not watched today's friendly.

I think I'd prefer to keep Henry in to be honest. IF, Senda signs, give him a go at right back and keep a midfield off

Rosa Henry Seyi Clapham as suggested by Bahama.

I'd like to see Ricketts starting again. Don't rush Rosa back in, a good 30 minutes on Saturday would do him some good before he gets thrown fully back into things.

I think it's more likely to be:

Murray

Edwards Breen Craddock Naylor

O'Connor Rosa Olifinjana Clapham

Bothroyd Clarke

Subs: Oakes, Clyde, Henry, Ricketts, Davies

But then, football is all about opinions :)

I think Henry needs to play. He sits in front of the back four, and will allow the other midfielders to push on without fear of leaving a huge gap behind them. I have high hopes for a Rosa/ Henry central partnership. Yes, I know Henry didnt have a great game friday. Neither did anyone else. He will improve with games.

Bahama wolf has got it spot on imo. Hopefully Senda will be ont he bench to come on later.

Ideally I'd want something like this

Murray, Clyde, Naylor, Edwards, Breen, Gobern, Rosa, Olofinjana, Henry, Frankowski, Bothroyd.

With the usual suspects on the bench.

I'm not at all happy with the Craddock, Breen central pairing. Experienced they may be but as a unit too slow. Problem is that now JC is the captain and that Breen is one of MM's first signings will he be able to drop either of them? I'd prefer Edwards to be in the centre replacing one of them but beter still a new CH altogether.

I'm trying really hard - honest I am.

That team makes me puke.

What are Campbell Chapman and Roger Eli doing nowadays?

They are OK when heading balls out of the box but struggle against someone with a bit of pace. Fortunately in this league they will have to spend most of their time heading and kicking stuff away. They will not have to face players of the quality of Nugent every week which is a relief.

It's not often anyone says this, but I totally agree with Essex. I was surprised when Craddock got a new contract last season and I nearly dropped through the floor when he was named captain this season. A back line of Naylor, Breen, Craddock and Clyde/Edwards means goal chances for the opposition and worry for Murray.

Having Craddock and Breen together is like giving the other team a goal start. Some would prefer to gloss over the problem by blaming Henry and O'Connor, but we desparately need McNamara back and a pacey centre back as well.

Can't believe that so many of you think Seyi warrants a place ahead of anyone, even Moxey!!! At least the pie man could be used as an impenetrable wall when defending free kicks. 2 goals against a team of nonentities in a friendly and you go on as if we have the new Viera at our disposal in midfield!! Get real!!

Roger Eli!!! :D

He has to be easily in the top three of the worst players I have ever seen in a Wolves shirt!!

I'd go for....

Murray
Clyde----Breen----Edwards-----Clapham

Rosa-----Olo----Henry---Ricketts

Franek---Bothroyd

Subs: Finkler, Davies, Clarke, O'Connor, Oakes
I'd move naylor out of LB, he's a $$$$in' liability at worse and at best inconsistent. I'd use his pace on the left and put ole man clapham behind him. That said, Nayls' crossing is supershiat. Craddock would be promoted to in-house artist and would be barred from walking on the pitch. I'd stick Franek on coz I'd rather play with a one-legged blind man up front tha Leon.

All in all I have to agree with Darkside, it's still a shiat team, though I'm willing to add, and a shiat manager who will have us $$$ked by xmas, take the pee out the team every week it loses (a la sunderland) by Feb 07, blame the players on a daily, take the money and do a runner......but most of you loons wil still love him coz he's a northern monkey, and you Bennies clearly aspire to that!

Good grief. You utter idiot. Why not support the team and the new man in charge rather than come out with this doomsaying claptrap.

I see some people are making Craddock the scape goat again. I would no1 in the world rather see Edwards there then Craddock...

like the idea of playing rosa off bothroyd, especially since we are away.

my ideal line up would be

murray
little - edwards - breen - clapham
olofinjana - potter - henry - jones
rosa
bothroyd.

i think its worth giving jones a run out against a team like burnley who arent the quickest in the world and wont smack him up in the air like plymouth tried to do on his debut

i doubt that this team will happen though, we will probably line up with

murray
edwards - craddock - breen - naylor
ricketts - olofinjana - henry - clapham
bothroyd - c. davis

bench - rosa, potter, clarke, oakes, o connor

Burnley are exactly the type of team who will "try to smack him up in the air". There arent many teams in this division who dont play like this anymore...

Rosa off Bothroyd was tried in the friendly against villa (off Cort) and Rosa was largely ineffective. Dont think he will benefit from playing there in all honesty. If anyone was to play there, i would suggest Seyi...

i think the cut off point is midday on friday so he should sign in plenty of time.

would be nice if ricketts wasnt in the team, maybe wishful thingking though

This would be my team..

your team gets my vote Taffywolf - lets throw all the new boys in and let them prove that want to be part of the new Wolves generation.

paddingtonwolf
16-08-2006, 15:48
I doubt Franky will make the bench - two strikers on there but only one defender and one midfielder seems a bit risky. O'Connor or Finkler will maybe take that place?
