hmm - central midfielder a priority? rosa/davies/oli/jackie mac to come back... maybe some other areas need loking at first Merlin?

Rosa - Could possibly play out on the wing.
Davies - An Attacking Midfielder.
Oli - Hardly a dead-cert for a place.
Jackie Mac - Defender.
I'd agree with Merlin that we need more strength in depth where holding midfielders are concerned....and I'm sure he'll be pleased to hear that.

Johnson is 6ft tall according to the E&S. The Birminham mail describes him as diminutive. (5.6. I read somewhere) Does anyone know the TRUTH!

If you actually read the article you just posted, then your answer is right there...

Aparently not. I looked on a number of sites last night and some said 5'6" (168 cms) some said 6' (183 cms). I think the Blackburn site said 5'6" but I can't remember exactly who said what.
Maybe its like Carl Cort - 6' tall normally but 5'6" when he jumps. :)

Simply pointing out a contradiction between the E&S and other articles I have read.
You obviously believe everything you read in the E&S, I recommend you broaden your horizons.

another way of looking at it:
rosa - loked good in pre-season so lets play him out of position
davies - agree
oli - on the preston performance i think he is pretty likely to get in
jackie mac - a versatile player who could certainly play the holding midfield role. he did it for celtic (my team in scotland so i actually saw him play there) and did it well. in fact if we bought a half decent right back then i think jackie mac should play the holding role. it may be Merlins theory too as he is looking at an RB trilaist
just my opinion... and im sure MM is delighted with it too ;)

I have seen Jemal Johnson on the telly a few times on football league review he is certainly not 6 ft more like 5ft 6.
Maybe its like Carl Cort - 6' tall normally but 5'6" when he jumps. :)
He never gets that far off the ground.
