Villa fans must be well chuffed, if they can get rid of Ellis now they will have a football club again.

Good signing for them unfortunately.

Plus that US billionaire is going to give him £20m to spend. If Birminham and Albion get back up this season, which they probably will, we will have fallen further behind than ever from our Midlands rivals. A lot is hanging on MM's ability to turn a sow's ear into a silk purse if our club is going to hang on to their coat tails over the next few seasons.

A great appointment, but is it too late to affect this season, even if they get the investment?

Long term, it could be the start of something. Take away the rivalry etc, but I'd rather a team from the Midlands be the next big thing, than one from the smoke. Still prefer it to be us though. Maybe the year after!

Should be interesting to see what happens next. IMO, O'Neil is overrated anyway. He did OK at Leicester but it wasn't that difficult to succeed in Scotland.

Now he has a chance to really prove what he can do.

And he'll do it - a manager of the highest quality a modern day cloughie.

O'Neill did well at Leicester to win the League Cup but Clough won the Championship and two European Cups with a small club. So he's not in the same league as Cloughie yet.

Good appointment by Deadly Doug but give it a year and see if Ellis has broken the spirit of yet another manager.

Not with Ellis he won't......I'm a bit surprised he's taken this with the Ellis situation still unresolved...unless, of course, he knows more than us. ;)
