Probably highly unlikely, but is there any chance of Mick bringing Silas back for a look. The guy is a Portugese International and weve got 4 players or something!.....Makes perfect sense to me?

No, he will never return. Don't know what the fuss was about. One good showing in pre-season friendly against Boavista and all of a sudden he is the messiah. We had Maris Verpakovskis playing in that game as well, I believe he scored but he was deemed not good enough and went onto to play champions league football for Dynamo Kiev. So a player shouldn't just be judged on was decent or one poor performance. He just didn't look up for the challenge in all of the games he played in after that. He's gone let's move on.

I'm sure we said we were very interested but just did not have the money at the time?

The over-riding problem here was the length of time we had been scouting him before he came here and was then deemed to be not good enough.

Actually heres a point. Weren't Sunderland interested in Silas at the time we signed him? I believe McCarthy was in charge there at that time.

I am more concerned about Molnar ..exactly the player we needed ...but Stuart Gray knew best at the time, I suppose. He probably didn't like that particular brand of baked bean and wanted the goulash flavour.

Gray was the one who said he wanted to keep Molnar. During the press conference on Friday Sir Jack said that MM had gone through our targets and said who no to touch and who to go for. MM is the one who would have said thanks but no thanks to Molnar. Quite possible that he has had this player looked at when he was at Sunderland and didn't rate him.

I wouldn't be too upset about Molnar, he looked decent at Tranmere but nothing special, if McCarthy fancied him he can still sign him.
