Being a loan player........yes. Think we can have 4 season loans (with 2 from this country, or has Champ Manager warped my mind??!!!??)

Do we know his proper position on the pitch? He doesn't sound like an out-an-out winger but has played right midfield in certain friendlies and he doesn't sound like an out-an-out striker but has played as the second striker at times.

Stuart Gray (I think) thought that his technical skills were such that big Championship defenders would stick the foot in rather than be made to look stupid.... so he'll be on a steep learning curve in terms of the physical game in this league. Hope he does well for us and for himself.

I think it shows that Mick will not hang about if he wants to do something. Also that he listens to other people's opinion because he must have got information about Finkler

Good. The guy is young, has good deadball skills and is creative. As has been said, let's hope he gets a fair chance to show what he can do and learns to deal withe physical challenges at this level.

I didn't, I like my Samba football from Brazil.

In all seriousness, if you gunna take a bit of a punt on a technical player, better to do it when he's 21 and joining for essentially a pittance.

For over a million Silas needed to work pretty much straight away.

Good news if he's any good... pity about the name though 'Finkler', can't help thinking about the Fonz in happy days. Surely he's got one of those flash nick names the Brazilians usually have.... like ELOANIO... lookmuch better on the back of a shirt.

Surely the risk is currently just the wages? Then if he is any good, the tiny outlay comes into play? Assuming I'm reading Vis' post correctly.

Maybe Guillermo or something like that. Is he the one called "Jay" or was that Soares, his mate?

Surely that needs to be ELONLOANIO to make Moxey a little more money on the letters?

Great Free Kick - just inside the post & dipped nicely although hit powerfully. To contradict the initial report from Hednesford, I think it would have beaten most keepers. Dead ball play is vital in this League (we'd have made the play-offs if Hoddle had added it into his training) & he seems the one to deliver whatever we get within 35 yards,
So I am very hapy with this deal!!!!

Good point Pengwern. Our free kicks and corners were woeful last season (except for a few from Anderson early on).

Perhaps this signing will 'free up' Naylor to concentrate on other aspects of his game. The sight of Lee trotting over to take right side corners didn't strike fear into the hearts of many defences.

Brave statement on the strength of one free kick against a non league goalkeeper, having said that i hope you're right and i suppose all quality players have to get discovered from somewhere, lets hope we've found a gem.

Over the years Wolves have really lacked players that could even be considered dead ball specialists. Only name that springs to mind from the last 5 years or so is Dennis Irwin and half the time we opted to take a short free kick rather than let him take a shot.

Going back a bit further I remember Mark Venus and Robbie Dennison getting a few. I think Simon Osborne stroked a few in, in a desperate attempt to cover up for his other deficiencies.

Naylordhinio, has struck a few.... however far to few to be called a specialist. The one at home V Reading in the play off's was a gud un.

Dennison was the only real specialist I can re-call, in the last 10 - 20 years.

The WOW report say he also likes to stay behind after training to practise his dead ball skills. A good attitude IMO. I hope he gets plenty of chances to show us what he can do without getting assaulted too much on the pitch. Still, if he can get the ball and win free-kicks around the box, then surely he'll step up to pop a few of them in. Always good to have that sort of player I reckon.

I thought he was supposedly on a free though? At least that's what everyone said on here.

Oh and for the record his name is pronounced GEE-AIR-M Finkler and his nickname is CACA (Kaka plays for Brazil).

Burnley at Wembley in Sherpa Van Trophy Final. Thought the one against Everton came from open play? If we're talking open play goals, he had a bit of a renaissance towards the end of his career and scored a beauty of a goal against Man City at the Mol.

I know you are on about Seol but it always reminds me of this John Gregoryu quote about Ellis:

"I'll give you an example. He thinks this training ground is the best in the country. We've got our own chef now, and he [Ellis] will say to me, 'I wonder what those people at Leicester City are having today, John? Probably beans on toast'. When this [training ground] was built, in 1975, it was super-duper, but in 25 years everybody else has caught up or gone past us, and this is like a shanty town now, compared to some."

Our last free kick specialiist was Tony Dinning, can't believe none of you remembered. Do you not remember when he scored 8,000 free kicks for Stockport then we signed him and the nearest he got was the post. ;)

Gui looks like he could be a good addition to the squad but I'm not going to wet my pants over him just yet, 1 and a half good performances in 4 from what I've read. I hope he finds his feet quick, a couple of good performances will help him settle much quicker and happier.

Does that make him a 'winker' in the Ronaldo vernacular, or merely 'Winkler' in the 60's use of the term?
