Going on the net to see what different sites are saying at the moment I was astounded to see that the E&S is showing stuff from 22nd and earlier. Is the leading paper or what?
Has this paper really sunk to the depths since it realised that it was not big enough to merit running Mol Mix?

They don't put the stories up until at least 12 hours after the paper's been published. They used to, until they realised that no-one bought it because they'd already read everything they wanted to read on the internet earlier in the day. Now no-one buys it because it's a substandard local rag.
Occasionally you get the headlines on the net with the line for the full story buy the paper. Basically it's as Deutsch says they used to update around lunchtime each day, but obviously it was affecting sales of the paper, or at least it wasn't paying for itself. They do seem to use the web now for getting feedback from people and oftem print opinions form there in the paper
As the buggles song goes "Internet killed the express and star"

It's annoying they do all this "read the full story in tonight's paper- only 35p!" patter, if you live outside of Wolverhampton...

You used to be able to buy an online/downloadable version of the paper, I'm not sure if you still can. Most of whats reported in the E&S is reported elsewhere (mainly on here) as well so I don't think you miss out on much
I remember the olden days when i used to race to the door when the paper was delivered to see who Wolves were linked with... Express and Star just can't bring you the exclusives anymore. They do 'understand' one or two things though.
Deutsch is correct - it is a sub-standard rag.
I stopped buying it ages ago when the reporting reached new lows (and not just the sport).
With the odd exception it reads like it was put together by the work experience on a tea break.

You ought to see what the rest of the country have to put up with, makes the E&S look fantastic in comparison. For news on Wolves mind, this is where I look first! You lot cannnot be beaten.

Yes, at least the E&S is daily. We get the Taunton Times, or Somerset County Gazette which are both weekly. Oh, and the Wellington Weekly, which is self explanatory. The West Somerset Free Press is weekly, but not free.

Pity.
Mind you - the London Evening Standard is even worse.

True - I remember desperately trying to get the scores whilst on holiday last year - if it's the Premiership you're after, fine, else don't bother...

The Hereford Times has a nice pull out section on agricultural machinery every now and again.....

Having been in Gloucester, seen their paper, as well as Cheltenhams paper, Bristols when I used to Work there... and now reading the Glasgow Evening Times trust me The Express and Star is an awesome newspaper.
It is not until you move away and see what the grass is like that you realise the grass is not greener on the other side.
Both Glasgow and Bristol are much bigger than Wolvo yet their papers are carp

So how do you local guys rate the Birmingham Post. Years ago I used to read that in the Library to keep up with some of the goings on.

Cambridge Evening News for cliches. Favourite from a few years back: 'At the end of the day, the U's were the better team on the night.' And they had a football correspondent called Randall Butt.

The Swindon Evening Advertiser was pretty bad. When Billie Piper first hit the big time, Melinda Messenger was very popular and the football team was doing okay. The aforementioned "news"paper ran a story entitled "Swindon - Gateway to world domination". The sad thing is, they were serious....
