... the 9th most successful club in England, according to a feature on Talksport this afternoon.
Stats were compiled since 1888 or 1898 trying to remember the interview, and Burnley completed the top 10. Shock horror- Man Utd finished top of the pile.
I wonder if in 50 years, we will still be anywhere near the top of the list. Let's hope so.

im sure chelsea with 52 premiership titles will make football more interesting, sir jack will still be trying to give the club away but we will win the fa cup in 2018

The full list is in The Times. Liverpool came top, Man U 2nd, Albion 24th and Blues 48th.

However the Albion had, apparently, the best attack seen in the top division in 1919-20 averaging over 2.5 goals per game.

I love that record, especially when we overtook Villa to get it. you used to be able to log onto the football statisticians site to check those things out but I think you've got to join the site now. One for the trainspotters I think. One thing to note, we also had the record for the most ever league goals CONCEDED. Strange, no-one seems to mention that one here...
