Surprised to see that Hulse is going for so much, shows what an inflated market there is for strikers at the moment!! :)

Ridiculous money, especially in light of the Duff fee.

I know Rob, played with him at Crewe. He's a better player than many people give him credit for. To be fair to him, he'd be $$$$$$ing himself at that transfer fee!

Leeds knew that it was moneybags Sheff Utd. calling and they added £2million onto the price.

Jees they must be desperate and too pay that much for HULSE !!!!
Unreal....bet he will score 2 goals max in the prem?

If Hulse is worth that much we should have rejected the bid for Seol...played in world cup etc etc?

Do not fancy Sheffield Uniteds forward line....Shipperley and Hulse blimey!

And here we have Sol Cambell leaving because he wants a bigger challenge. I can think of nothing tougher than Hulse and Shipperly up front against you...

I think it's superb news, Hulse can't score his obligatory goals against us, and Warnock takes another carefully executed step towards relegation. As Richie Benaud might say (if he hadn't been driven off my tele by the ECB) "Maaaarvellous news all round".

desperation from anew boys to the big league

better that than spunk £2m on some foreign no mark

He is an average Championship striker. Suits Sheff Utd to a tee.

They're going down.

Might free up a few of their striking options: someone like Webber or Kabba, I'd take either of them for around 500k.

I was hoping we'd sign Webber when he went to sheff utd, I think he's potentially the best of the 53 strikers currently on the blades books. He just can't seem to maintain consistency.

Don't really rate Kabba, he's quick but that's about it.

He always seems to hit the post against us!

Fun time Frankie can hit the post ;) I'm hoping for someone who can hit the net...ideally 25 times a season.

A million for Seol - nice one Jez.

I can't believe you're honestly having a dig at Moxey because Sheff Utd are stupid enough to pay £2.2m for Hulse, and we "only" got £1.5m for Seol.

I was hoping his comment was tongue in cheek DW.

Warnock's just getting desperate because he hasn't signed 10 strikers before the opening game of the season. I really hope we can pinch a few of their players. Another one I'd like is Lucketti on a loan deal- surely he won't get much of a look-in in the Premiership?? I know he's a very recent signing but they've brought in a few defenders who will ahead of him in the pecking order.

On another note, I can't believe Craig Short got a new contract

It was also common knowledge that Seol wanted to leave and despite his potential failed to consistently terrorise teams which won't have strengthened our bargaining position.

Moxey did also get us over a million pounds for a loan deal, which is still the most ludicrous thing I've ever heard.

Top of the evening to you all.

Do you think Chelsea are in a league of their own?

Desert Wolf

It gives Leeds more spending power in their pursuit of Nicholls etc, which doesnt help our cause!!  :)

Good signing even for that money. Hulse is a snip at £2.2 million when compared against Frankowski. If he had stayed fit last year Leeds would have gone up automatic - didn't their form slip just as Hulse got injured? We could have signed Hulse and Ashton for pennies when they made their name at Crewe. Instead we went for Roussel and Taylor. If thats ever a recommendation to sign from the lower leagues rather than the top division, I don't know what is

Gee they are names from the past......best forgotten! - tubby taylor was £1.6m.......how much was Roussel? - I had completely forgotten about him........ :)

Not really. You have to remember that for every Dean Ashton, there are at least two Jon Steads.

Also, remember that Man City bought Robert Taylor for £1.5m "from the lower leagues rather than the top division".

It may seem like a lot of money, but he scored 14 goals last season for Leeds and his overall record for them was 20 in 50 games or something like that. Pretty good rate IMO.
