MURRAY- If he stays fit a real bonus has the ability to be a top class keeper
OAKES- Able backup would not let us down
LOWE - Jurys out I feel may be a better centre half than full back
EDWARDS - doesnt do it for me we need to replace
CRADDOCK- His nickname of give a goal away game Jody says it all
NAYLOR- the least of our problems
MACNAMARA- should be quality and ought to be made Captain.
OLIFINJANA- who knows
DAVIES- Bags of abilty if he doesnt let things go to his head could be a top class player
ROSA- could be ok probably needs a good run in the side
RICKETTS- Not a lot to say inept
CORT- could be effective if played in correct position more likely to be on his
way as soon as Moxey seals the deal.
FRANKOWSKI- presume he can score goals will we ever see one
CLYDE - the new George Ndah
CLARKE- pity his ability doesnt match his opinion of himself.
The coaching staff Gray, Connor and Hoddle would any other club want them.?
I am shocked that any fans at all are looking forward to next season
yet I read that people are excited that we are on the verge of a new era
we will need to sign at least 6 -7 players to even be competitive.
I am sure the comments will come about nappy wetting etc but we need someone to pull this club by its bootstrings and I dont feel moxey is the man to find him.
I don't feel moxey is the man to find him.
He can only pick from the applicants and then the full board will yeah or neah the proposed appointment.
Sorry to shatter so many illusions but Manu or Arsenal we 'aint no longer....think Hull and you are pointed in the right direction...the plugs been pulled...baby's gone down the plug hole...we 'aint a BIG CLUB anymore in the grand scheme of English Football.

This nickname - was it invented by the same people who call Owen Hargreaves "Mountie Boy"?
Murray- IMO potentailly the best english keeper in the country
Oakes- Steady keeper excellent stand by
Ikeme/Hesseney- Don't know alot about either but at 3rd choice good enough
McNamara- Looked a class act before he got injured his versatility will be valuable now the squad is so small
Clyde- If he can recover from injury troubles 1st choice CB
Craddock- Hard working player who needs someone quick alongside him, will struggle this season without lescott along side him.
Edwards- Not confident enough as a centre back ok at RB but doesnt get forward well enough
Geypes- Injury to keep him out to christmas at least can't see him playing a major part this season
Lowe- Liability not good enough at either RB or CB
Naylor- Proved to be one of the better LBs in this division
Little/Jones/Riley- again don't know enough about them
Ricketts- sees himself as a CM, why? Has a real chance to start on either wing. Doesn't seem to wan't to take i
Davies- Needs good players around him if he is to reach full potential. I hope by the start of the season he has a new CM playing alongside him
Olifinjana- Never played well under Hoddle at times showed signs of a good player needs a confidence boost
Rosa- Lively, runs around a lot hope he improves on last season
Gobern/O'Connor/Gleeson- Worrying that their is no senior cover passed the four above!
Cort- Can't see him starting the season for wolves
Frankowski- Never seen him look even half decent, Keep telling myself he'll come good but I think its wishful thinking a disastrious signing.
Clarke- Needs to be given a break, not the best finisher but will get into positions again worrying that their is no more cover
GK- No worries
DF- A lot of players but need a quality CB who can be relied on
MF- At least 1 wide player and 1 CM needed even if ince does sign
ST- 2 strikers needed both first choice one with pace alongside experienced front man who can link up play
Critical season for Clarke, needs to knuckle down and lose the attitude. Could be decent player at this level, causes defences all sorts of problems by his directness. If Cort goes interesting to see him and Franky, may work, may not. Something tells me that Franky might be a revelation this year - but then I'm always stupidly optimistic.
There's always the option of playing Seyi in role behind sole striker, Sven for manager anyone? ;)

Cort- Can't see him starting the season for wolves
Why not? He was averaging a goal a game before he got injured last season. Granted, he's not world class, but he's good enough. Give him a good strike partner and I think Cort will be just fine.

I wasn't questioning his quality, which BTW I don't particularly rate that highly. I don't think he will start the season for Wolves as I don't think he will be a Wolves player much longer.

A useful player from what I saw on Sky last year.

It's a poor looking squad. If we get a manager in time for the big kick-off I hope he's got some good players in mind ( and he can persuade Moxey to give him the money ).

It's a very wafer thin squad with little quality so hope you are right re the new manager, assuming we get one this side of the seasons KO.

Murray, McNamara, Craddock and Naylor all have plenty of experience at the back and if Clyde can recover from injuries and find some form then he would offer some maturity also.
In midfield Rosa is a seasoned player although admittedly still to find his feet in England. Otherwise we look very young and raw in this area unless Olo can suddenly re-discover himself. Up front Cort and Franko are seasoned pros. So although we do have a lot of youngsters banging on the door to the first team it is not as if there isn't a core of experienced players who may be supplemented by others over the next six weeks.
The problem is quality. However, a good manager might be able to rejuvenate many of these players, who in theory should be able to thrive at this level. Meanwhile, hopefully some of the youngsters will bloom. As long as we make four decent signings and don't have too many injuries we will be ok in midtable in my view. That's as good as it's going to get.

If we play 4-4-2, which would be good, then:-
We have 4 goalies (including Ikeme & Hennesey), 9 defenders (including Riley, Jones & Little), 10 midfielders (including O'Connor, Gleeson & Gobern) and 3 forwards according to my reckoning. That's 26, unless Ince & Cort go & 22 if they go +we don't sign the 2 Brazilians.
A squad of 28 is the minimum, I think.
I agree that the defence has enough maturity & talent & cover for mid-table if Murrray is behind them. At least one of Craddock's potential partners should come good & help us hold out until Gyepes is back.
The midfield needs more wingers than Ricketts, Gobern and Finkler (plus Jones, maybe). Ince, Davies, Olo, O'Connor, Rosa, Soares & Gleeson are all central midfielders.
So I think we clearly need forwards - 1 anyway & 2 if Cort goes.
So for me a good winger + a good striker.

Iīm afraid youīre absolutely right, mate...
The main thing what makes me mad during last few days is Moxeyīs transfer policy... I know that itīs sounds logically that manager will make a decisions about the transfers but now itīs 14 days from Hoddleīs exit and we still havenīt his succesor. We are 3 weeks from the season kick-off, donīt have a manager and donīt have players. 3 $$$$$$$*** weeks!!! And Stuart Gray said something like "no need to panic"... What Moxey (and the Board) is expecting? That we can still think about possibilities than sign a manager 2 weeks before season kick-off and everybody on the market will be kindly waiting for "sleeping giants from Wolvo"?! I can answer, Mr. Moxey - "No"! We will have a much bigger problems with signing any interesting players and we largely need to "install" them to the team. Do you think Mr. Moxey, that few days would be enough? I can answer again - "No"! Everybody knows how important is good (or decent at least... ) start to the season so what is he waiting for? I know very well that itīs key and very important decision for the clubīs future but from my point of view during these days Board and Moxey have to work 25 hours a day and make everything what they can only to have a new manager as soon as possible. Even though to have a meetings with possible candidates at 2AM... If somebody is really 100% interested to lead the Wolves he should have no problem with interview at 2AM, thatīs all, full stop, end of story! Iīm afraid that itīs typical picture of last few years in WWFC - for a long time everybody is OK, no need to hurry up and than one of the following day it will be too late as obviously...(everybody has to remember the summer 2003...). As few of people here already said many times before - Moxey is not a football director and we strongly need somebody for that position! With football director today we could already have a manager and maybe also new team...
WOLVES FOREVER!!!

It's amazing if you half close your eyes and look at the current squad list it's not half bad. One more striker and a midfielder and we could be in with a shout all they need is someone with a hat to tell them what to do and when to do it.

MURRAY- Highly unlikely to stay fit
OAKES- Will play most of the season - SOLID
LOWE - If he plays to his potential he might just hold his own.
EDWARDS - our worst player, talentless, timid and out of position
CRADDOCK- No confidence. Utterly unable to marshal the defence
NAYLOR- Fine. Prone to the odd stupid error and terrible distribution though
MACNAMARA- Haven't seen him play enough to comment. Should be fine though.
OLIFINJANA- last chance saloon for him.
DAVIES- Overrated, but could do a job.
ROSA- could be ok probably needs a good run in the side
RICKETTS- No way.
CORT- won't be here.
FRANKOWSKI- who knows
CLYDE - injured
CLARKE- not good enough for plymouth.
Relegation Fodder.

No, I dont suppose it will. It's simply the list of players that the thread starter wanted comments on.
Why don't we have a little game - you post your comments on the same players, and then we can look back at the end of the season and see who's opinion was closest to the truth.
