View Full Version : FRANEK - opinions
Hi,
I'm football and Franek's Polish fan.
I created this topic because I want to get to know your opinion about his form before new season.
I know that he played in two matches and showed anything special.
Do you think is repeat of last months? or he is playing better?
Do you think has he chance for playing in first squad in new season?
I know you are disappointed, but we still believe in Franek's skills.
regards
ps. sorry for my poor English.
Hi,
I decided to try again and ask about Franek.
I know he played today and didnt score.
Could you tell me sth about his game?
I will be grateful ;)

I still think Franek's got it in him. He just needs one goal, and he'll be banging them in left and right. Apparently he came close today, I wasn't at the game (I am an American Wolf after all), anyone have details?

Im hoping he comes good this season, he needs a goal and quickly and hopefully his confidence will come flooding back. He looks a good intelligent player, but playing under Hoddles system he suffered.

Hello Bea!
I hope that Franek will prove his worth this season. There's no doubt he can score goals but his confidence is very low at the moment. He hasn't shown anything special for Wolves at all. Most fans still seem to be behind him however. Come on Franek!
Btw. I'm also from Krakow. ;)

hehe, nice. did you register on this forum because of Franek?
i still believe in this guy but it lasts too long.
do you think that the problem is only in his head, or another things are going wrong? (in Poland we say about not suitable system of playing for Franek)

God NO!!! I'm Wolves' fan not Franek's although I rate the guy very much and wish him to succeed.

I think both. The wrong system drilled confidence out of him.

I've seen frankowski against burton albion, telford and hednesford and he has been poor. There have been moments where he has used his football brain to create openings for others, sometimes clarke isn't clever enough to read them though. He's good when he comes deep to collect the ball and brings others into play.
However, he's very slow and was outpacced by non league defenders and he is weak and gets shoved off the ball easily. Sometimes wolves play the ball in the air for him but this isn't for him as he's about 5'7 and doesn't jump very high. Wolves should play it on the ground but the players arent good enough to do that consistently for 90 minutes. I'm not convinced by him despite his "sublime" passes and think we got ripped off by paying 1.4 million for him. 400 thousand is a more realistic price. I hope he comes good

Sorry, it was stupid question.
To be honest, i'm Franek fan and i follow his football career, it's reason i'm here.
I support only Wisla Krakow, but i wish Wolves all the best ;)
Thanks Wolves' fans for your answers.
i will be grateful for next opinions after another matches.
I just don't think he has the physical prescence to succeed in the championship, he seems to need defenders to back off him to create chances. He seems to have scored his goals in Poland, how good their top flight is I don't know, but they don't seem to do much in European competitions. A question to the guys from Poland, how good is the Polish league? How does it compare to the championship?

I think if we had a good striker playing alongside him, Franek is the kind of player who could poach rebounds and loose balls and the like. He might be suited to playing tip of the diamond with a 4-1-2-1-2, where he would (at least in theory) have more passing options and wouldn't be tested in the air as much.

He's certainly got a football brain, let's hope the new manager can get the best out of him.

Franco is fantastic striker...but we must be patient with him. Last year it was GH's tactics and ideas that ruined his game. I'm sure that we will see the real Franco this year. A $$$$$$$**g goal and he will find his confidence!!!
Who on Earth spells their home town wrong? Nice wind up Bea!
Best regards,

Who on Earth spells their home town wrong? Nice wind up Bea! He's not spelt it wrong. Crakow is an English variant of Krakow.
I have actually BEEN to Krakow - never did I see it referred to as Crakow!

Can 'Thread killer' also be spelt 'krud filler'? Or 'turd thriller' ?

Though to be fair to TTK, he was defending someone who was attacked by SSW for no apparent reason.

I remain to be convinced by the mighty midget. Yes he shows a couple of nice touches, when he comes deep and has space. But that is the least you expect from an international. He doesn't seem paticularly sharp in the box, he has no pace, and is weak. I'm hope for our sake, and his he can prove me wrong. But he looks a utter waste of money by the big chinned genius, Hoddle.

The funniest comment I have ever read on the 'new' Molineux Mix was when someone on here said Frankowski was as quick as Kenny Miller. Gufaw.

I like him. Think he will play well with Davies and Rosa when the season gets under way. Clarke is a problem to play with and Cort is not much better. He needs to come a little deeper to get the ball.
I have spoken. Cue taking the $$$$.

Well, to end the debate of spelling... Krakow (even Kraków) is Polish spelling, Cracow is English version. Crakow does not exist.

From the man that brought you this, ladies and gentlemen...
...deleting loads of old files from my PC, just came across the following little beauty, composed in the flush of victory at Cardiff in 2003:
(to the tune of Bye-bye Baby, Baby Good-bye by the Bay City Rollers):
Bye bye Baggies Baggies bye-bye!
Bye-bye Baggies, try not to cry!
Now the Golden Boys have been promoted,
Last season’s bitter pill tastes sugar-coated!
Bye-bye Baggies, Baggies bye-bye!
Bye-bye Baggies, back to your sty!
We play the Arsenals and you the Wigans,
The Nationwide’s for you, the Prem’s for big’uns!
Bye-bye Baggies, Baggies bye-bye!
Bye-bye Baggies, you’re not on Sky!
It’s football feasts for us – for you the morsels
You spend so little your team’s worse than Walsall’s!
Bye bye Baggies, Baggies bye-bye
Bye-bye Baggies, shove off and die!
:)

He'll be fine given time!
His all round play makes up for his lack of goals IMO.

Hi,
Do you think Franek has chances for playing in main squad after new manager coming?
i read that Franek didnt play against Aston Villa.

Everyone will play in the first team from the professional squad. Injuries will require that. However, for the time being he may not be first choice. He will have to do well in training and take his chance when he plays. Mick seems to be experimenting with Gui Finkler as a striker and I also think Franek is being outshone by Rosa from midfield
Apparently Mick was asked in a press interview why he didnt play him and his answer was "because I didn't want to".
I like Franek and agree with those who say he will come good. However, he has to prove himself now and will not get away with the "as soon as I score it will be ok" approach.

Yes I agree that Frankie has been treated unfairly........our players dont pass it to him on the floor a yard out of the goal, the opposition defenders dont run away from him to leave him time to shoot and the oppo goalie doesn't face away from him with his hands behind his back.
And Hoddle was supposed to be a judge of a good player!!!
I think it may have been a sign of things to come that Franks Face doesnt fit at the Molineux, that before the game he was having a kick about with Bully while the first team were warming up on the farside in front of the Steve Bull stand. I hope he is given a chance to play alongside a decent partner before he is shipped out.
it would be a criminal waste if he wasnt allowed to play up front with someone other than cort in a simple 4-4-2.
boothroyd might be the guy, its too early to tell as he didnt look fit yesterday.
I think he's a good committed player with a nice touch but you need wingers alongside him.
I hope Mick plays him as i dont rate Bothroyd.
He need's a goal very badly. Eventually the Eagle will land.

Bothroyd was poor against Villa. I assume that he's not match fit so I'd give him the benefit of the doubt, but would've thought that Franek would've contributed more. Hoddle himself said that Franek contibuted more than just his goals (or lack of!!).
How interesting.
