Excellent 24 year old right back/right winger leaving Wycombe on a free, going to Luton.
Add him to the list of young lower division players we could and should have signed this summer.

He's been a Wycombe a long time. I can't say I've ever really seen him play that much but I take your word for it.

He's very quick, and we certainly lack pace and directness in the side at the moment. It would have been nice to see him link up with Jackie Mac on the right-hand side.

Perhaps another man missed then. QPR were in the running as well so maybe he wanted to stay in the South seeing as he's been at Wycombe since he was 16. There is a worrying amount of transfer activity this week and we're not involved in any of it.
Good player on Champ Man . . . . .

Is he any better than Gobern though?

He's more versatile for a start, he's played most of his football at right-back. We could have put him there and moved Jackie into midfield.
You're right though, Gobern really needs to kick on this season, and to do that, he needs to be given a chance.
what is it with right backs and you lot! we've got 2 natural right backs in Jackie and Edwards with Cylde and lowe who can fill in, we also have mark Little who some of you who have seen him play think will have a good future in the game. it's left backs we need!!! oh and midfielders and strikers!!!!

Makes me wonder DW if the club have actually even been bothering to look at any players.GH's decision to resign may have been an on the spot one but with so many leaving and no one coming in it makes me think there never was any intention by GH to look.

He can play on the right of midfield where we have er, no-one.

Seol, Gobern. ;)

Seol - can't play there, showed that last season, he plays behind the front two, up front or not at all
Gobern - has played 10 minutes for us so far, whatever happens he won't play more than 25 games next season

We can see if Gobern does alright during the first half of the season.
If not, we can always return to Senda.....

it's where he plays for South korea though. As for gobern, you're probably right but we'll never know how good he is if we don't try him we will?

It's where Advocaat played him for South Korea. He played up front in 2002.
Gobern - I agree he should be given a go, but he could be great, could be awful, and we can't rely on a virtually untried youngster to play all season. Senda would have provided cover if nothing else.

Give Gobern a try? That's a bit revolutionary for Wolves! Isn't he a young player?
you're right but at the moment we're a million miles away from getting players in to improve the squad, it's players to improve the first eleven that's needed and even that doesn't look like happening!!

What was Glenn doing while he was pondering his future, watching prospective players in the World Cup, considering players in the UK who may replace those we were selling on or need to replace. No way.
Once again a club and a manager mostly innactive during the most important time for pre-season decisions.

That game Gobern played as a sub at Molineux, I personally believe I saw enough in him to suggest he could hold down a place in the team, especially when you consider there's very little competition.
He didn't seem to play with any nerves and wasn't afraid to do his own thing and have a go at defenders. For a first appearance that's pretty good in my book. I seem to remember him alnost scoring too, but not quite getting there in time.
Oh and DW, didn't you post your team for next season that included Ricketts playing on the right? May not have been on here though. Ricketts was one of the better players at the awful Leicester away game in that position so could definitely 'do a job'.

I did, not that I think he's the answer, he's just the least square of the pegs we have to fit that particular round hole.

Thought as much. At least with Gobern he is a dedicated right winger, unlike Seol and Ricketts.
With a very thin first team squad we not only need a few players who are versatile enough to play different positions such as McNamara/Ricketts/Kennedy/Seol, but also a good few who specialise in each positions and know it inside out.

I don't disagree with you about Gobern, having seen a couple of the goals he got for Bury and Blackpool I think he's got something about him. However, it would have been nice to have Senda on board so there wouldn't be too much pressure on him to deliver despite only having played 10 minutes for us.

I remember that appearance. He put in one hell of a cross- honestly one of the best of the season (not that its that great a feat). He did well on loan as well. One thing is for sure though- we better pray he can make the step up- along with one or two others, or we are well and truly staring relegation in the face.

In his first pre-season with the 1st team he was played up front.............with Gary Mulligan :o
