Forgive me if one exists already. I've only seen something discussing Ince or Gray as if they are the only choices.
I actually reckon the club will go for Gray and appoint Ince as his number two, if only because they wan't have to put their hands in their pockets for players. These two will be just grateful for the job. It would be a disaster IMHO.
My preference would have been Paul Simpson but he's now at Preston. In which case I would like to see Alex McLeish in post with a reasonable transfer fund to play with. Failing that there is always Mick McCarthy, although his track record of success in the Prem leaves something to be desired.
Any others?

Typical Wolves.
How many decent managers have been available over the last two months? Then when they“re all pretty much gone, we finally do the decent thing and force the worst manager in 20 years out of the club.
Well done Moxey. Not only did you bottle sacking Hoddle in May, you have missed out on some of the best managers around, managers who could have taken us forward. Billy Davies, Iain Dowie, Paul Simpson to name but a few.
Now who are we left with, Mick Mccarthy et al. The cast offs, the failed, the Glenn Hoddles of this world.
Well done Jez on yet another catastrophic piece of judgement.

Does anyone think Curbishley might want to have a bash at repeating what he did at Charlton?
Very much doubt it. He narrowly missed out on the England job and it's clear that he left Charlton to search for a better job to boost his profile. Managing Charlton was always going to be a major obstacle in landing the 'big one'. Wolves wouldn't be a step back for him, it would be about a million steps in the wrong direction.

Steve Cotterril (sp) from Burnley, used to working on a shoestring, and developing players to play better as a whole, rather than the sum of the parts. The only question is , are we big enough to attract him away from Burnley.
That hurt just to write it!!
Dave Penney, won't be on much at Doncaster, probably a grand a week

I think they'll appoint the boss from what we've already got.
I think Chris Evans is a good shout, if he wants it. The club has stated that they are going to have to bring the kids through, who knows how to spot a youth player and improve him more than Evans.
Stuart Gray will get it though
Or
Bring back Graham Taylor in an advisory role and let Incey ease his way into management.

I think the Lescott money (2m up front) will help to pay the wages (yes, still) but would hope any future sales including Seol would be added to a kitty also...
The annoying thing is if Hoddle hadnt been such a tit and left it so late we could have got Simpson or Martin Allen.
At this moment Wolves might do well with some kind of partnership between Gary and Ince. Theyre both available, they know the club (for better of worse) and they will probably not do worse than just about anybody else in the coming season.

Well done Jez on yet another catastrophic piece of judgement.
Must be my interpretation but I thought Moxey told Glenn how disappointed the club were with the "disaster" of the 05/06 season via the programme. Then at the post mortem Glenn put up a very strong argument to be given the job again due to his success at Swindon where he operated on a "shoestring" and his contract was renewed . The big chinned $$$$er then strings us along for two months waits til his coaching and backroom team are given new contracts we're about to board a plane for pre season training in Spain - his idea to go I believe as he said you can get three training sessions in a broad - must have longer days in Spain!- and then phones up Jez whilst he's settling down to watch England and says "I'm going".
Well someones been shafted but I dont think its Glenn.....................

Thats not a bad shout to be honest!
My preference is Joe Royle but if you went for a younger manager then Clough could prove an interesting choice.
Mick McCarthy has an excellent record at this level.
The problem is though - what is our aim? Promotion, or promotion and staying there? If its promotion then McCarthy can do it. But he cannot win a game in the premiership and his buys in his premiership season were very very strange.

I don't understand how McCarthy is a failed international manager. Were it not for a rather generous portion of paint on the six yard line, he may have taken the Republic of Ireland to the last eight of the World Cup.
I'd be happy to see Mick involved, but I would like to see Ince involved in the set up as well so he can learn the ropes of management.

Ince with a Director of Football to mentor him would be my choice. Taylor as has been mentioned before might be a shout, Dario Gradi with prime resposibility to bring the youth team products into the 1st team would be another (he's got to be bored of Crewe by now, they've been relegated and he's made a couple of statements re Wolves in the last year so may be interested.)

Can't believe people are blaming Moxey for this one. He decided to stick with Hoddle and made it clear transfer funds were limited at best. Hoddle has totally and utterly screwed us over - he should be the target of all the vitriol.
I'd like to see Gary Johnson given a go. Worked wonders at Yeovil and then took Bristol City from 23rd to 9th. Expressed an interest in the job when it was last available, has international experience, young, talented - he'd do.
Of the rest, McCarthy would be fine and Ince or Chris Evans would be interesting. How about Charlie Blakemore if we really want to take a gamble? ;)

Give it to the Stafford Rangers manager with N Clough as the Director of Football and S Bull heading up the reserves.
Seriously, if we've now saved 500K with Hod resigning, can we not spend this on a manager's wage. If so could we really show some ambition and get O Neill in as Doom Wolf suggests?

Leeb, yes it's just a pipe dream, but he's probably the ONE manager that would be a success anywhere. But if the FA don't have the onions for it, then neither will we (disregarding the fact that he'd never come to Wolves with such an unbalanced squad).

O' Neill - Wouldn't come, can't afford him.
Curbishley - Wouldn't come, can't afford him.
Baxter - Just been appointed at Helsinborg. Typical.
Tigana - Now at Besiktas, wouldn't come in a million years.
I think SSW is right in that we need someone who can bring the young 'uns on and integrate them into the first team successfully. A manager/coach apppointment seems logical - Someone who the players could respect and look up to for manager, and someone who knows exactly what he is doing in this sort of situation as coach.
Therefore I wouldn't be too adverse to say a combination of Ince/Kidd.
I just want to see some excitement this season.
So anyone who will play attacking football with players (however limited in talent) playing in the correct positions, and giving 100% effort.
