Great player but not impressed with him as the choice for assistant manager with no experience. What is wrong with someone like Pearce??

Good shout. Proper winner at any cost mentality. along with Venables it looks quite a good set up on the face of it. Quite impressed with McLaren aswell, who comes across as a wet fart, chossing TV and AS if true. Shows he's prepared to make big decisions for the good of the team etc.
I wonder if he'd have done things differently to any major degree over some of Sven's decisions.

Will be great experience for him, you'd have to say he's a certainty for the Newcastle job when Roeder eventually leaves.
