This kid who ManU bought, who then changed his mind after Chelsea approached him and tried to say that ManU had pressured him ... Chelsea been found guilty yet again........1st time i've been glad to see ManU take some money off someone...
Chelsea have agreed a transfer deal for Nigerian youngster Jon Obi Mikel. The Premiership champions will pay a combined £16m transfer fee for Mikel, with £12m going to Manchester Untied and £4m to Norwegian club Lynn Oslo.
The agreement resolves the future of the 19-year-old, who has been the subject of a bitter dispute between the three clubs.
United have agreed "to terminate their option agreement" with Mikel, whose registration goes to Chelsea.
"Under the terms of this agreement Chelsea will pay Manchester United £12m, half payable now and half in 12 months, and Lyn £4m, half payable now, and half payable in 12 months' time," said a United statement.
United thought they had secured Mikel's transfer from Oslo after he signed a pre-contract agreement with them in April 2005.
But the Nigerian subsequently claimed he had been pressured into signing the contract and wanted to join Chelsea instead.

Actually.........for a 19yr old unproven Norwegian Nigerian.....16million is quite a price.
Perhaps we got Olofinjana as a steal ?
That's a joke before anyone starts.

Does that translate to "Chelsea offered him a ton more money to do the dirty on one of their chief rivals knowing they could find a nice place on their second bench that needed warming"
£16m for a totally unproven player!! Expensive even at Chelsea's prices

There was some talk last year that that's exactly what their policy is, taregt your main rivals and mess their minds up.

Good news. Hopefully Obel will get injured for life in a years time to bring a happy conclusion to the story
He may be a little misguided, but wishing a lifetime injury on him is a little harsh isnt it?

I love this statement from Chelsea:
"The payments do not in any way imply the acceptance of any such claims (ie by United) and have been made solely so that Mikel can resume his career."
Yeah, 12m just so he can resume his career, who are Peter Kenyon and the Chelsea Machine trying to kid. I can't stand PR men - scumbags.
