Am I expecting too much?

I'll watch the World Cup on TV and hope to see some good football, whoever wins but I get more and more $$$$$ed off every time I go to the club website and see the Nationwide banner advert.

Furthermore. I am not interested in horse racing and even less in betting.

However, I would like to see a lot about what goes on at Molineux, what the players are up to, what the club's plans are for the future and not just a few platitudes from the powers that be.

I am puzzled as to why there are never pictures of the Youth and Academy players on the site and even the first team details are oftem skimpy to say the least.

Am I expecting too much?

Probably.

Premium TV own the majority of all football league sites and as such are a monopoly. I work in a new media agency so I could phone Wolves up and try and convince them they need a better wesbite, but I doubt they'd listen. Premium TV are probably giving them tremendous economies of scale by using them, plus our "club" probably don't give a damn about our desire to read more about the youth team, etc.

This is why we all come to an independent forum to talk Wolves and find out what's going on. For me, this is my ultimate resource for everything Wolves. The site is just for when things are officially announced (eg. I hear Lescott's being sold, go to site, it's confirmed), but we don't get much more.

Is Wolves World still a rip off?

its not very informative and only full of regulation soundbites in my opinion. also how many times do we need to read about jan molby, he means nothing to wolves supporters. any e-mails i receive only tell me how i can spend or save to help wolves run the youth scheme including buying the players sweaty cast offs, placing bets or annoying phone calls to change my phone over to a different supplier in order to help the club. it doesnt make you feel a part of the club just a means of finance to be squeezed again and again.

Exactly. It's all part of the money-making machine that all football clubs churn out. That's why forums like ours will always be popular because proper fans can chat about what means most to them - football.
