Agreed, Swindon a couple of years ago was the last friendly I went to, total waste of time and money.

Not always been that way though- really enjoyed the Arsenal (0-1- Wright) and Man U (1-2- Blades OG won it for Man U) pre-season friendlies, and I think there was a good one against Chelsea as well, possibly a testimonial game although can't remmber too well these days.

United at home was the most memeorable friendly for me, although Boavista the other season was not bad either.

Saying the side Villa have on for the 2nd half will most likely be their Prem season starting 11 and certainly the back 4 will be the defence for sure.

Im sure you can remember a few years ago when Oakes gave the fans stomach aches. In fact that produced Murray an early debut for Wolves.

not long back from the game. I am hugely encouraged in what i have seen today. players to stand out for me today. Oaks two good one on one saves. Jo very strong. Ofinjora (sp) great in midfield. Kennedy , yes thats right Kennedy was the creative player in the centre and i thought he was superb. Looked very fit too. Ricketts had a good game but missed an open goal. For me Carl Court was outstanding. He has had a very good preseason and looked a very good player.

Jackie Mac was tested more today but he looked sound. The new bloke GG he can make unbelievable jumps and he looked composed and made some good interceptions.
