Hi all - am I missing something or has there been little to no news on our incomings or outgoings?

I know none have been finalised but what are the rumours?!

Even though moxey is gone do you truly expect us to do something so drastic as to strengthen the team in January?
You'll be expecting us to keep our best players next.

One or two have suggested Omar Bogle from Grimsby a 6' 2" striker who has scored 32 in 67. Then I saw he was from Birmingham and originally on West Brom's books. They let him go so I suppose he can't be any good. Nobody wants a striker rejected by the Baggies, never going to work in a million years.

Very quiet on the transfer front both in and out at the club. No concrete links with any new players from what I have seen.

I think it's obvious we want Marshall and A N Striker, whoever that may be. Probably end up being a pointless loan knowing Thelwell!

Don't we need another left back more than a right back? Doherty needs someone to compete with him surely?
I very much hope that Bogle is being considered. The ideal sort of striker with the formation we play. Also mates with our very own Ebanks Landell.

I don't, but I think they know money was spent poorly in Aug & they've talked about being smart with money, so don't want to overspend.

    Specific - Buy a club, think after 6 months...Doh! We've bought a dud.
Measurable - being in lower half of the Championship, and not close to play offs... We've bought a dud.
Achivable - Not this season .... Cut our cloth and dont spend.
Realistic - Staying up more than going up
Time - 5 months and it'll all be over and sell up.

That what you mean by SMART?

I don't think Fosun have lost interest. They would not have approved all the recent contract extensions if they had. Rather, they have just learned the hard way, the same way that countless other wealthy investors and individuals have learned over the years, that you can't just throw money at a football club and expect to turn it around. It is a complex and subtle long-term business involving primarily the most tricky and unpredictable things around - people. In a football club, the right people can work wonders with sparse resources, but equally, a fool and his money can soon be parted. I think Fosun learned all this within the first few weeks, with the penny dropping, probably around about the 4-0 home defeat to Barnsley. They lost some face, and since then, they have started gradually to turn the thing around with a much more patient and focussed approach, having brought in PL. There are signs of a recovery just starting to show, and they, like us, will hope that steadily, this will be maintained and built-upon. Slowly Slowly catchee monkey, as they say.

If I was being argumentative would suggest that the recent contract extensions for severely limited footballers demonstrates a total lack of interest and commitment to make the significant change required.

I think they've certainly had a shock at what it takes to get out of this league. If they don't have another go in the Summer I think it's safe to say we'll be stuck in limbo for a long time.

For those saying they haven't lost interest, oh they have.

Apparently we're interested in Robbie Keane, Zeli Ismail and his brother Zele Ismail and someone called Talisca. I suggest a new thread for each of them.

He was here a few weeks ago but Fosun do seem very low key at present and no sign of Mendes.

I don't think Fosun have lost interest, but Jeff Shi has probably had a telling off about some of the early decisions that were made and the amount of money it is likely to have cost them!

I think Jeff became caught up in the euphoria of the whole situation like a lot of us fans did. He maybe has been told to take more of a professional, back-seat position going forward.

On that basis, Fosun appear to be taking a far more considered approach to future dealings, which is probably what they should have done from the very start. Signing such a high number of random players in such a short time was never really going to work was it!

Thanks for your thoughts Rhos. You'd be referring I suppose to Carl Ikeme, who kept us in the cup game on Saturday, and Dave Edwards, who must be our highest scorer this season among our permanent players.

Thanks Monkey Man. I really can't agree. Nobody (and especially not Fosun) makes a £44 million investment (30 to buy, 14 on new players) and loses interest 6 months later. They have a very strong reason to stay interested, namely the value of their investment.

That's **** poor business if true. Neither player are better than bottom half of the Championship and confirms to me that Thelwell can't buy above this level.

Not bidding for Sam Winnall and then going for Danny Ward, a striker who can't lead the line and is an exact carbon copy of Mason is appalling if true. I really wish we would stop buying average crap.

Yes but how much more money will it take to get us anywhere near competing? It must be down hearting to see that spending £14m gets you in a relegation scrap.

I think Fosun have unfairly received a lot more criticism of their early season transfer activity than they are due. Mistakes were made but I thought it worth highlighting:

22nd July - Fosun Officially took over Wolves (and inherited a paper thin squad bereft of quality following the M&M asset stripping operation)
    28th July - Jackett sacked
    30th July - Zenga appointed
6th August - Football League season begins
31st August - Transfer Window shuts

What I want to illustrate is that there was next to no time to try and create a team. To say Fosun have already lost interest is ridiculous. Lets wait until next summer before we throw that accusation around. I for one am really intrigued what we might be able to achieve with Lambert at the helm bringing through young players and adding a mix of known championship players and foreign talent.

They really haven't and, quite frankly, you would have to be unbelievably thick to come to that conclusion.
