I've just had notification from Swansea that tickets are now on sale for the academy game with us on Tue 10 January at 7pm at the Liberty. Tickets are a £5 (£1 for OAPs/students!!!!!!! - ****ing bargain). They are opening just the West Stand and car parking at the ground is £5. I'm off next week to get my ticket and it would be great to see some Mixers shouting for the lads! It may be the only chance to ever see Wolves get to a cup final!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a stretch on a cold Tuesday night in January. I wish we streamed these on YouTube.

Good on yer NNW but a tad too far for me taking into account the games either side of this fixture in league and cup.

I've never seen Wolves at Swansea, but thinking about it I don't suppose we've played them that often over the years? I'd love to have seen the 4-4 but IIRC we were already down then?

My first visit to Swansea was at the old vetch field when Wolves won 2-5 in the old Div3 24th September 1988. And yes I do believe Wolves were already down when the 4-4 took place.

I went to the 4-4 draw. Clip Boardiola would've gone into overdrive if we nicked it, which I remember thinking that we would.

It will be interesting to see what team gets picked seeing as many of those eligible (if you include Hause, Iorfa, etc) are now in the first team!!!

Hope we put out a very strong team and get another step nearer Wembley.

FA Cup and Checkertrade Cup double anyone!!!??? Ok, ok, just day dreamimg!

Gladon, Prince and CBJ involved in this one, I guess. And maybe Tex.

Aaron Collins back with us now and can play Tuesday (he is cup tied with us and not Notts Co as he played vs Cheltenham in August).

As a child I saw Swansea 0 - Wolves 0 in 1981, my first Wolves away match and I still have the match day programme!

Went to that game - top tier behind the goal. Swansea were flying high when we played them and were MOTD darlings for a short time.

Remember the day well. Both sets of fans chucking half enders across the road and most of us seeking shelter. Aye, those were the days!

Glad this thread has been resurrected as I wonder if there will be any supporters coming down on the coach(es)? Also, has anyone on here any experience of these U23 away games? As there is only 1 stand open for the game do both sets of fans just mingle together? The reason I ask is that I would like to wear my colours but I don't want to get biffed on the head by some burly Welshman!!!!!!!!!!

I can't really take the half day off work to go & watch this free travel or not. Won't be back in until 2am either. Shame as the last few games have been really good.

What has happened before when in the same stand is they give a block of seats to the away fans, say at Molineux the lower BW they gave a block of seats to the right of the tunnel to away fans then the left side around 5 or 6 for home fans.

There's not been enough to really cause any agro though & both mix in the concourse under the stand.

I think of the squad that's been used so far there's Bright & Connor Ronan that have progressed to the first team with maybe Burgoyne & maybe the kid who came on yesterday as well. Hause & Iorfa although eligible by age shouldn't really be considered as that would be unfair on those already used in the earlier rounds. Was it in this that Gladon scored a hat-trick or was that a regular U23 game/ Birmingham Senior Cup?

If I recall correctly there was a prison to our left overlooking part of the ground and I remember thinking even the prisoners would be bored with the game

Indeed, Swansea Gaol. Poorly behaved prisoners were forced to watch until they repented.

There are three full coaches of supporters taking advantage of free travel for the game. Thanks for all going along to support the lads

I am very surprised we dont play any senior players in this one. Why not Prince, Gladon and Wallace?

Answer could be "they are talking to other clubs"..

Or probably that it really defeats the point of entering the tournament to give real game experience to our young kids?

It's a shame that some of the kids who have done so well to get this far are missing as they are now with the first team.

    Checked the previous games.

vs Sunderland U21 and Accrington: only U21 players.
vs Crewe: Lonergan, Silvio, Saville, Wallace and Dicko
    vs Chesterfield: Ebanks-Landell and Dicko.

So have been a mix. Latest two games no senior players and seems like Lambert wants it like that. And maybe you are right. We are not in the cup to win it with senior players.

Think they might struggle without Ronan and Bright but they are a good bunch so I hope they do well.

Ohanlon, Collins, Hayden and Reid back in the squad after loan spells. Donovan Wilson is injured.

A real shame there's no Ronan or Bright. Understand why with Bright but is Ronan still injured?
