Looks like Starmer had a say on the kick off time for the game last night but it changed anyway..

I live in California. This morning, two Mexican co-workers knocked on my office door. They wanted to shake my hand and congratulate me on our win. There was massive expectation in their camp and they were very disappointed, but very proud of their fight. They were both very complimentary about England. They thought they could win and they were close to doing so, but they told me the result was fair and marveled at our talent, especially the defense. I'm hearing from other Brits that they are getting the same treatment from Mexicans. I wish us England fans could accept a World Cup elimination with such grace.
 
Is it me, or have all the Colombian games been early morning. They are good side and could easily beat Argentina.
 
Absolutely loving this World Cup.

Just witnessed another classic, Argentina v Egypt, to go with our classic v Mexico, Senegal v Belgium, Argentina v Cape Verde and a few others.

Great to see the minnow countries doing so well against the heavyweights.

I thought 48 countries was too many at the start, but it has been great imo. Attendances and atmospheres at the stadiums have been amazing as well.

We’re in the last eight and should fear no one.

We can win the World Cup!

The FBI have been investigating the AFA since 2025 over an alleged $300m money laundering scandal. We already knew that prior to this world cup but nobody cared - it was all eyes on Man City and our own corruption in the Premier League.

I cannot wait for the lid to come off and for the lies to come out of the ground for all to see. I want to see top level football collapse and the game to start all over from a lowly position once the dust has settled - but that will never happen.

The FBI themselves are hardly holy and without spot or blemish, so it's always snakes eating other snakes.

Nobody will care, mate. It's like telling a junkie that his dealer is involved with money laundering. Things are too crazy for anything painful like that to stick.

I seem to recall heads can roll at the FBI and investigations end.

Apparently this is the first World Cup ever that neither Brazil or Germany have made the quarters at least.
