Something to take our minds off the trials and tribulations of Wolves.

Who do you fancy?

For me, England have a great chance. An excellent squad and and a very astute manager. Won 8 out of 8 to qualify and scored 22 with none conceded. If they do it, it would be the Diamond Jubilee of their 1966 win. Are the stars aligning? I have a feeling they might be. And with a German coach! I love that.

I think Spain will be the eventual winners, though England, France and possibly Argentina will be in with a decent chance.

I would go for Norway as dark horses. Erling Haaland is a goal machine, and with him in their team they are more or less guaranteed to score a few goals.

Gennaro Gattuso to navigate Italy through the play offs, third time lucky, then lead his nation into the World Cup on the 20th anniversary of him winning the trophy as a player in the new blue and gold kit commemorating 2006 - won't happen but one can dream, just hope we make it through the play offs

At least an Italian is managing Italy not like the embarrassment of a German managing England.

I think the Brazilians are going to be better than people think.

I also think there will be a lot of complaints about weather, lol.

In general I expect the organization to be very bad.

As long as Richarlison is in their squad they won't be threatening Spain and France.

USA will probably win, anything to curry favour with the tyrant, they're even giving him a plastic Nobel prize.

Lol i am very confident that A. The USA will not win and B. I doubt the president would even want them to given the makeup of the team. Let's just say it ain't the ice hockey team.

Avenge the demons of R. Baggio in ‘94!

England's year I believe. Too many of the others in transition with some still living in yesteryear.

Maybe Spain will give them a run for their money, but England has my vote.

Very true, not sure they'd want him celebrating with them and the crowds either. Could be awkward if he's getting booed in some stadiums

Honestly it's so far away who the hell knows.

Norway are going to go on a deep run aslong as Haaland stays fit. Outside of that, Spain or us will likely win it. Tuchel knows tournament football very well

This expansion to 48 teams has already meant some incredible stories:
  • Curaçao, a Dutch Caribbean Island of 150,000 are the smallest ever nation to qualify after they did overnight.
  • Cape Verde are second smallest country by land area (after Curaçao) and the third least populated (after Curaçao and Iceland) to qualify;
  • Uzbekistan also have sealed there debut appearance.
  • Haiti have made it to only their second ever edition, the first time since 1974.
  • Panama also reaching it for the second time after 2018 and our delightful 6-1 hammering.
  • New Zealand are there for only the 3rd time and the first since 2010 and with the OFC finally getting one guaranteed spot, they should in theory now become regulars.
  • And of course our cousins in Scotland return after 28 years away, with there still being a chance of Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and Wales joining.
This is the kind of variety in football that’s been needed for years and it is making me very excited to see it all unfold.

Might be an unpopular opinion but expansion to 48 games with those sort of poor teams qualifying will just lead to a crap dragged out tournament with far too many games.

This is where I’m at. It’s great for the smaller nations to qualify but the group stages will be filled with one sided games I think.

Has it really? Isn’t it just the same as letting Sunday league teams enter the FA cup? Super exciting for the club, you might even get the odd shock result, but what can also (and is more likely to) happen, is those clubs will be on the end of some right tonkings.

A bit like the qualifiers, which produce some of the most pointless and boring games ever. All those games for the possibility of perhaps knocking out a couple of so-called bigger teams.

When all said and done, when it comes to the pinnacle of football, I want the best teams there…….Okay, I agree, teams like Italy have had their chance to qualify outright and haven’t managed it, so I can see the argument there. But, do we honestly want no hopers to take their place?

Going to America for 10 nights in June, got hopes of getting tickets for a World Cup match, but not holding my breath, and won't be paying stupid prices, will go to a fan park or 2 if needs be, just to soak up the atmosphere.

On paper, England have got a great chance, but I reckon the temperatures might have a big part to play, and could go against us.

Azteca Stadium is now the Estadio Banorte. Just sums up the whole game ; It has become more than a game of football. I couldn't really care less how England do, but I'd like to see a game or two in Boston. ( Not cheap there ).

Think the prices have been released. Looked pretty insane even for the group games.

Yeah, me and my wife have registered in both ticket ballots so far, and been unsuccessful, been keeping a keen eye on prices, and to say they're eye watering would be an understatement.

I think unless we find some very late ones, sold on FIFA's resale platform, then we've got almost no chance at finding any for a reasonable price. So far, the whole thing has just been a gross money making exercise for Infantino.

We looked at Boston, and the prices just for flights were ridiculous, God knows what accommodation was like.

Probably talking £300 a night for something on a Novotel level i.e. safe area, basic, functional and clean.
