A game where for the first 35 mins or so we looked like we had no idea what to do. But something clearly happened at half time.

I wanted Jackson subbed at half time based on what he delivered in the first. But he really showed some character to turn it around in the 2nd half. He didn't turn into prime Cafu, but looked like a competent wing back who knew what his strengths were when attacking, and defensively was sound. That 2nd half is the standard he should be setting for himself, but for tonight - fair play to him.

Armstrong also deserves a shoutout for his non stop efforts, along with Gomes, Andre, JRB and Mane in particular.

We battled so hard, the Sa save Mosquera clearance showed real desire, get that in the team we may over look the lack of quality. Toti is not my cup of tea but he was very solid tonight. But how good were the Brazilians, apparently they can't play together. And a special mention to the last 30 minutes Jacko! He defended well and attacked well, if someone can get that over 90 he's well worth the money

Terrible first half, clueless on the whole with only Armstrong making intelligent runs. Jackson T was awful but not alone.

After a dodgy few minutes of the second half they were very good at times and gained confidence - JT was a player transformed and Mosquera was immense.

Armstrong man of the match. The poster who said he'll be vital next season was spot on. He's the archetypal Championship striker who'll work for 90 minutes, create chances and score a lot of goals - if we have creativity behind him (Mane, Bellegarde hopefully).

Death, taxes and beating Villa at home.

Thought we were very good second half. I haven’t been convinced by Edwards but one thing that is beyond doubt is that these players, despite their obvious limitations, are giving absolutely everything for him.

Some big performances all over but thought Andre, Joao Gomes (God, I will miss him) and Armstrong were the standouts. Think Armstrong will be very good in The Championship next year.

Special mentions to Tchatchoua for a really good second half and Toti for a fully committed display after a long lay-off.

Agreed. Many (most) were calling for changes at HT, but Edwards stuck to his guns and was proven right. His subs were much later than Villas, but saw us home and Rodri got a goal to seal things. Credit where it's due!
Disagree with your MotM. Mine would be Joao; but everyone contributed.

I watched Villa vs Leeds last week, Villa were very poor in that game. They seem to really miss Kamara and Tielemans.

Others said poor first half. We could not pass the ball at all.

Second half we looked a different team. Jackson was great down the right and was nice to see him be positive. Bellegarde, Mane were good. Armstrong made some good runs and ran. Gomes and Andre did what they do best and get in amongst it. The back three stood up to the physical test. Sa actually made some saves.

I am a critical of Edwards but give him credit for that second half.
