I think Rui has enough to do with the first team without asking him to scout as wellI used to watch a lot of German youth Football in the 1980s in the Hamburg area and it was technically miles ahead of over here. The players had full control of the ball & how to use it. If this is still tre, which I think it is, then we will prosper more than we have in recent years. In the short term I would like to see Preusser bring over some young talent from Germany to our academy & Rui Silva to do likewise from Portugal.
I fear our youth scouting network is now shorn of any quality when not long ago it was a good productive talent line.I think Rui has enough to do with the first team without asking him to scout as well
I believe Luke O'Donnell is in early rehab so he'd be targeting a pre season return. Nathan Fraser has been talked about loads already but seems a long way off and is looking like a shadow of himself currently (build wise).... really hope he can recover. Some of our players in the academy have been out for months and months with injury. Reiss Bowen started the season well but not seen for well over 6 months after injury and also had long spells injured the season before. Luke ODonnell hasn't played for well over a year. Leon Chiwome out for over a year and then hamstring injury after 2 games back. Ty Barnett seems to spend long spells out injured. Nathan Fraser not played for well over a year.
Anyone know the latest on any of the above players?
I thought Fraser was supposed to have given up football & joined the Royal Marines? Some of our players in the academy have been out for months and months with injury. Lost 1-0
U18s lost 1-2 at home to derby.
Post-Brexit visa rules make that last sentence much more difficult to fulfil.I used to watch a lot of German youth Football in the 1980s in the Hamburg area and it was technically miles ahead of over here. Luke Rawlings signs contract extension
Wolves Academy midfielder Luke Rawlings has triggered a one-year contract extension to the first professional contract he signed in April 2025.www.wolves.co.uk
good news
Decent prospect GW ?
I like him too, think he's an Adam Wharton/ Jack Price type.I like him…. I think he’s taken a little while to adjust to u21s (compared to how he was at u18s) but it’s all too easy to forget he’s only 17 as he’s been in the u21s for 2.5 seasons now.
He's also small compared to the midfielders he’s often up against in this age group where size often outdoes skill., but he holds his own
However, what he does he does well. He’s very quietly consistent… a Jonny Otto in DM if you like.
As he continues to develop in this age group I’d like to see him get fwd a bit more if allowed as he’s scored some belters at u18s and he’s not had the chance yet to show that yet
AwfulRawlings has apparently suffered a cruciate ligament injury.
It’s not just us, it’s systematic of youth football unfortunately. Not fully developed bodies in most cases being pushed.Awful
What is our luck with young players and bad injuries
Both serious injuries I think, would be surprised to see either before the end of season.Any news on Enso and Chiwome? Both pulled hamstrings a few weeks back and both so unlucky after a year out with knee injuries .

U18s lost 2-1 at everton
U21's, U18's and first team all not doing great this season.
U18s lost 2-1 away at newcastle.
Have heard on the grapevine that it was not as bad as thought and may be back at the beginning of the season! So good news for the ladWell deserved.
I hope the injury doesn't set him back too much.
Poaching from smaller clubs again
