Total Loss of Interest?

I thought Mark McGhee was the realist deal ever and would take us to Premier League glory!
I thought McCarthy was a terrible appointment.
I thought Vitinha was aggresively mediocre and would amount to nothing. (I still have a grudge about this, and still occasioanlly think he'll get found out eventually!)
At year start, I thought we'd win 3 matches at most before season end. But look at us now, we've won ... let's look it up ... 3. That's odd, feels like more , I suppose we were so bad, draws feel like wins now.
I thought Fosun cared.

I still think Silvio will be good, just as soon as he puts his injuries behind him.

I thought Hwang was one of the brighest young talents in Europe and it was a real coup for us to sign him and he would for sure be the Jota replacement we needed.
On the other hand, I'd never heard of Cunha and after a few matches, he was so unimpressive, I just knew that he'd soon be off to the Portugese second division.

Commentary thread is the best place for spotting the donuts, that often post rubbish and don't admit to it.

To be fair I regularly post rubbish on the comms thread I admit I was wrong about. Latest I was furious Edwards subbed on Angel Gomes in the last game.
I will now slate every sub he makes in the hope it makes me look daft and we do well! :tearsofjoy:

It's like an alarm clock for me the Comms thread, especially home games when I'm walking up to the ground....I check the team when it's announced, read the first 6-10 comments on the thread and when the moaning starts with who been picked etc, it's always reminds me to have a mental break and try n enjoy the walk......switch off for a couple of hours.....I think christ them off again...Funny ...

You did and you had the good grace to admit it and fair play to you.

It's always more enjoyable if you're doing well than if you're not, no matter how good or crap the football is. Overall though, as a spectacle football has gotten worse and worse over the last 20 years or so. Genius is coached out of players so they can play to percentages. Players that get you off your feet are now few and far between, enjoyment has been ripped out of it because there's a 1% higher chance of getting a goal and a 4% lower chance of conceding one if your wickedly skilful winger passes it inside and we win a corner than if he takes on his full back (that statistic is made up...). So they play percentages rather than what made everyone fall in love with the game

It's already gone though, no bringing it back from here. If you want stuff to get you on your feet you need to drop down the leagues

Afternoon Guys,

As the thread title suggests, has anyone else just lost total interest in the club?

I've been a diehard wolves fan all of my life and I've always backed them, whatever division and however poor we find ourselves, I've always had unwavering loyalty and would watch every single game.

The last few years though, I've found myself losing interest and now I no longer make it a priority to watch the games. It's not just the fact we are losing either, it's the whole package. I think it's football as a whole, it's no longer that enjoyable to watch...or is that just me?

I miss the excitement of watch players actually run with the ball, beat a mean and whip the ball into the box. I miss the quick football, the quick one twos through the lines.

Is it me, or is it all just a bit boring now?
I'm fed up with it all. Last few years of poor decision making just wears you down.

I completely lost interest during this month off and hardly posted on here at all. It’s kind of killed my enthusiasm for the rest of the season at the moment but that will probably change before kick off on Friday.

I’ve been offered a ticket in the home end for Friday but am still in 2 minds about taking it up.

I watched the Real Madrid v Bayern Munich match last night and that restored a bit of my interest in foootball.
The way a game should be played. 2 great teams playing great to watch end to end football.
Michael Olise was brilliant for Bayern and unplayable at times. Playing wide right, he continually took on and beat defenders for fun. Just like our Waggy did, back in the day.

Couldn’t be bothered to watch any of the Sporting v Arsenal match as Arsenal bore me and are a team that sum up one of the reasons I am losing interest in the beautiful game! Bad losers, boring to watch and I hope Man City beat them to the title.

Diehard, loyal, lifelong fans are being priced out of the game. The cost of travel, admission prices and merchandise make it very expensive.
The cost of World Cup tickets is crazy and the cost of a child’s football kit is well over £100. Teams like Chelsea and Man City do what they like in flaunting the rules and the former gets a slap on the wrist and the latter gets away with lifelong delays in their hearings.

I love my football. Played the amateur game for years and have attended hundreds of my beloved Wolves games. Now a pensioner and cannot afford it anymore. The likes of Infantino, VAR, cheating and our awful referees have contributed to my growing lack of interest and it won’t get any better imo.

If its knock out football it can be fun as team go out to win.
So much Premier League football see tired teams trying not to lose knowing it's a LONG season. There is no immediacy .

Almost hoping we lose to Leeds next week to finally make it official and put us out of our misery

I'll continue to watch the games, but it's all hypothetical now, as it has been for some time in reality. We should get more idea of what direction the club is going in during the close season.

Maybe we'll buck the trend next time and get a narrow 1-0 home win against Lincoln City in early September.
Our first win since March probably .

Im back at work anyway Monday after me "redundancy".......so time for me to take me flip flops off after 10 weeks and stick me boots on again ...stick me down for pre season again ..Thinking of getting a box next season for home games ....

I decided to go and watch Bilston Town play last weekend and I have to say what a thoroughly refreshing change it was. It sort of reinvigorated my love for the game after the dross we have been served up over the last few seasons. A 3pm kick off and it was great listening to the banter between the fans and opposition players and management. A pint in the bar which you could take back to your seat if you wanted to....those were the days.

Glad you're sorted mate.
No Girona this time, so I'll see you at Shrewsbury, Crewe or Walsall

never done any of the pre season matches abroad. Would quite like a closish European tour. Not sure how easy it is to get tickets etc? Not much else to look forward this season is there!

Normally tickets are plentiful and easy to get. I've never had any issue with tickets, be it in Spain, Portugal or Switzerland.
Crewe or Walsall might be more difficult.

Just can't be ***** with football in general, it's become background noise rather than the main event. I'm a STH and have never missed as many games in a season as I have this year. Used to work my life around the fixture list, now book holidays and events and look at the games I miss sometimes after.

Football as a whole is background noise, used to love the World Cup, this is the first one since I retired so can watch whatever game I want without work getting in the way the way. But if the drivel that's being served up by the Premier League is anything to go by, I think gardening and DIY will be more rewarding.
