So to try and remain positive after Sundays performance, should we scrape survival what should our summer business be? For me maybe something like the below….

Outs.
  1. Cunha (reluctantly)
  2. RAN
  3. Sarabia
  4. Doc (fear a Dawson scenario)
  5. Forbs sent back
  6. Johnstone
  7. Fabio
  8. Hoever
  9. Chiquinho
  10. Sasa
  11. Hwang
This should raise a decent amount to allow Vitor to bring in his profile of player….

Ins.
  1. Semedo (new contract)
  2. H Bueno (Back in squad)
  3. New LWB as competition for Bueno
  4. New GK (first choice)
  5. New No.10 to replace Cunha
  6. New LW
  7. New RW
  8. New goal scoring MF
  9. New CF as competition for JSL
As far as actual player names though probably only Rios and Yuri Alberto spring to mind for the last 2.

Any suggestions or what would you guys do?…

Appreciate it’s a massive turnover so maybe not realistic but needed imo to push on if we stay up.

If Agbadu is injured for a long time we are not staying up, imo. We don't have the fight that's needed, although to be fair the villa game and second half at Liverpool were better. We concede too easily and miss good chances. O Neill, Hobbs and Shi, and players that are on high wages who don't really care about Wolves, toxic combination. So, to answer your post, I'd clear a lot of them out and rebuild around Doyle, Larson, Roderigo, Lima, Hugo Bueno, Agbadu, Munetsi and Doc.

Definitely need a new keeper.
Need 3 or 4 attacking players.
Ideally, Hwang, Sarabia and Guedes, will leave.
If there's a big money sale, hopefully it's Ait Nouri.

We need to start spending on some decent homegrown players....it's a must for squad depth...We need to get away from being solely reliant on 17 foreigners all the time...You would obviously look at the talent in the championship like Patterson at Sunderland...And the teams who are relegated maybe ....

Obviously it's a bit early for these conversations as we are far from safe ourselves...But our HG side of the squad is too weak, we are not producing in that area , so we need to spend to improve it ....

Unfortunately think Semedo will be on the list of outgoings to with Rodrigo as his replacement already with Lima backup. Sasa i find it difficult that anyone would come in for him with his injury record and his contract not up for another 2 years we wont be paying that off. Would be interesting to see Vitor look at Chiqinho before we sell, awful loan spell but that RWB could also suit him.

The squad does need an overhaul so large turnover is necessary for Vitor to build a squad he wants

That outs team don't look too bad? Obviously with little defence and a Gung ho attitude it would need to be coached by the master tactician Gary O'Neil?

As said above if Agba is out for any length of time we will struggle to stay up unfortunately
Obviously Djiga may be able to shore things up if hes ready we will see after the Bournemouth games i guess

Beat me to it!

It just doesn't make sense to have a HG contingent as weak as ours is, especially as there's no limit to the number you can have in your 25 man squad.

We only have Doc and Doyle from our HG group who contribute regularly to matchday squads which puts a load of pressure on the 17 foreign players to stay fit/be on good form/not 'do a Lemina'.

It would be baffling if this wasn't at least somewhat addressed in the summer (if we stay up).

New GK a priority, all of ours are terrible imo.

I'd cash in on RAN, think he's over rated. Shift some of the dead wood like Hwang, Guedez, Sarabia, and Forbs etc. Sassa and Tarore can go too for me.

I'd be tempted to give Fabio another chance under VP.

I feel we really lack a sucker punch in games like the Liverpool game. It was crying out for Neto or Tarore imo!
So a pacey goal scoring inverted winger is an absolute must. I'd be tempted to get Neto back in a cut price £20ml plus add on's.

Please no to Fabio. Just get rid.

I share the views that we need change from the top as our current leadership don't seem to learn from experiences.

Twice now they've sacked managers when we were looking odds on for relegation and twice we have survived. We also survived a season with multiple player sales and no new additions and O'Neil deserves credit for comfortably keeping us up last season given the circumstances.

But they go from one crisis to the next, always scrambling around for solutions when things become a crisis. I have little faith the current lot will do anything different in the summer unless we are relegated.

Stay up or go down it's a re-build either way. You would hope Hobbs is identifying targets now. On the + side they got Agba, Muntesi and Djiga in in January so you like to think they have their finger on the pulse.

I expect it to be totally insane either way. A seismic talk of the league window.

I was adamant last summer that Kilman was a bad sale, in depth terms ,as he was potentially our only HG guaranteed starter...so he wasn't easily replaced as such , we was one down in theory...We will probably be forced to get say a Hardwood Bellis in summer day and be no further forward..

I get why the bulk of the squad is foreign as sales wise they will play anywhere so are easier to move on....But we over use the 17...We are already 2 over in the summer and will have to name Rodrigo Gomes so 3 will have to leave to be back level ....it makes every window harder as you are full on quotas.....

Our HG strength is bar far the worst in the premier league ...so depth is poor

More 1st XI starters will leave than are brought in. The remainder will be made up of people we have never heard of but look amazing on YouTube and we are convinced will be the next big thing for us. Couple of kids for the future, never to be seen again. And again a failure to strengthen fully in the core areas of up front and central defence.

I think that's about the size of it.

Kilman was a great sale at £40m, he’s not worth anywhere close to that amount. Agbadou is three times the player at a third of the price.

We do need to address the home grown issue, with purchases though, because it seems our youth team never produces anything.

That's not what I'm saying.... I'm just saying we haven't been able to purchase a HG player to replace Kilman in the staring 11.....so we are a player down essentially in depth ! ...Kilman sale was effectively forcing us to go for Dara O'Shea, Tanganga, Danso as it was the only way we could squeeze another centre back in ...We could only recruit Agbadou because Yerson got injured so we didn't have to name him.....

Build around Doc? I'll have whatever you've been smoking please.

Cunha to go early and we’re scrabbling around on deadline day having “given up” the first 3 games before picking our 4th choice replacement….

…meantime Mr Shi drops the comparator of Liverpool for ticket prices and regards Spurs as a better match given they finished bottom half, we both have a Korean star and we’re less than 2 hours from London.

Pereira definitely favours physical, aggressive players. I can see a lot of the more lightweight members of the squad getting replaced. The main thing though is we keep some sort of technical players in the squad, someone with an eye for a pass to unlock defences, especially once Cunha goes. Your team can't just be made up of runners and high-% duel winners.

As far as outgoings Cunha, I hope not but pretty inevitable, Sarabia, Forbs, Chiquinho, Sasa, Hwang, Hoever, Silva and Sa. Got to be close to £100m and £300k per week wages off the books.

I would keep Docherty as emergency cover, Doyle as he's HG and Johnstone if we can't find another HG backup keeper and he's willing to stay.

3-4-2-1

GK - NEW, Johnstone

DC - Agbadou, Toti, Djiga, Mosquera, S Bueno, Docherty

WB - RAN, R Gomes, H Bueno, Lima

MC - J Gomes, Andre, Bellgarde, Traore, Doyle

AMC - NEW, NEW, Munetsi, Guedes

SC - NEW, JSL

Some of the names I would like sound unrealistic but who would have thought Cunha would have come here!

GK - Ramsdale, Hermansen, Kelleher, Chevalier, Restes

AMC - Sancet, De Ketelaere, Cherki, Khannouss, Hutchinson, Hlozek,

SC - Delap, Alberto, David, Isidor, Biereth

What have you done with Semedo?

Don't know who we'll buy but no matter what division we're in I don't think Cunha, J.Gomes, Andre, RAN, Guedes and Sarabia will be here.
Will be lots of changes I imagine.

Wonder if we stay up and Southampton go down, if a swap deal could be done with Johnston (+ about £15m) for Ramsdale?
Ramsdale keeps prem football, Johnston gets first team football he desires.

The most important thing would be binning off Hobbs or relegating back to scout and bring in a DOF with experience of building a squad under a budget.

But it's not going to happen and I don't trust Hobbs at all

Been linked before but replace Santi Bueno with Joel Ordonez (20) from Club Brugge....Seems a great prospect.....Then concentrate on keeper n forwards.....

Fabio has had enough chances

But we don’t have to buy HG players to go straight into the starting 11.

Surely a more cost-effective way to do it is to buy a bunch of Agbadous at reasonable prices for the first team, and buy promising youth players for the home grown places.

But with just having 17 foreigners, you are essentially just shuffling the pack every season...A couple of injuries or foreigners out of form then you are short of numbers .4 foreign centre backs for instance doesn't leave much numbers elsewhere...You will always be short or desperate in some positions...We are the only squad in the premier league without a guaranteed HG starter , nevermind a very good option..

The general principle of foreign is fine but are are too far that way....We need better HG options or the numbers will always be down ..it's not like we have 17 top foreigners, some of those are questionable..

We need to somehow limit the outgoings to Cunha, Semedo and possibly RAN. I just hope Gomes and/or Andre don’t leave as we have shown that we can’t be trusted to properly replace players and they’ve started to form a formidable partnership.

Agree with the keeper sentiments, Sa is alright but we could do with somebody who is better than alright.

Wide forwards, another striker and a RWB for me.

No way would Sa stay as second choice.

I think it’s pretty much nailed on that if we survive there’ll be two big money players go with it being Cunha plus either RAN or Joao Gomes hopefully the former but I don’t think he’s done enough this season to warrant a big move yet.
