These days VAR would have a 5 minute check where Alan Sunderland is concerned to see if his hand is in an unnatural position in the vicinity of the balls

That was some night. Here's another one.
I reckon this could have been the most electric night at Molineux I ever experienced.
yeah Danny Hegan, another player we saved from the devil.Danny Hegan?

They did do it one programme for both, I was on holiday in Redcar for the Cambridge match and go the train down from there much to my parents annoyance !Not that friendly, but was there for the Cambridge and Lincoln games. If i remember right, I am sure Wolves produced one programme to cover both games. Thats how bad times were back then.
Funnily enough Hegan is my family nameDanny Hegan?
He had a good hairdresserNo but for years I thought Nicky Clarke was under rated.
I used to have the programme from when wolves played Chester city at sealand road for a friendly in 1985 i think it wasNot that friendly, but was there for the Cambridge and Lincoln games. It was just a photocopied team sheet of both teams basically.
That was back in the days when I’d check the programme adverts from the likes of Steve Earle in shoot! And send away for a catalogue.
Postage to New Zealand was so slow back then, it took months and the pound was three times the value of the New Zealand dollar
Steve earl programmes another great memory, I think it was him that you could pick a season and get a box full of programmes which could be from any club. The Shoot ! ads for Steve Earle Programmes now there is another great memory![]()

Agree with Steve Earle. I ordered loads of random programmes from him! That was at a time when football programmes were a great read and with no internet back then, it gave you a great insight into the teams. The parcel arriving in the post was just like Christmas morning.I used to have the programme from when wolves played Chester city at sealand road for a friendly in 1985 i think it was

A lot of folk made a lot of money out of the Ladbrokes outlets at the ground courtesy of Thommo.... All too often they offered stupid odds on him being the first goal scorer obviously having not factored in that he was the penalty taker.great penno taker

And that friendly at Sealand Road…. I was there! Got a lift from a friends dad. Cant remember the score, think it was either 0-0 or 1-1.
erm, no. There was 4 of us, and probably a handful of other die-hards. Not many Chester there either. No way !
How cool is that
Did many other wolves fans go?
Only 4 of youerm, no. There was 4 of us, and probably a handful of other die-hards. Not many Chester there either.
Ironically I thought Chester's ground was not too bad either. Sad that at a time where teams were about to build new stadia following the Bradford fire disaster, we lost a lot of good grounds to boring, small, lifeless, mecanno grounds. ie, Chester, Walsall, Shrewsbury, S****horpe (The Old Show Ground was an excellent old school ground).
Edit, funny how 'Scun-thorpe' is filtered. Reminds me of the joke.... 'Name 3 teams with swear words in their name?'.... Ars-enal, Scun-thorpe, and Birmingham ****ing City.![]()

this is a great reminder of the days they were just footballers who stood toe to toe with the working class who watched them,

Bad memories. My Dad played rugby for Wolverhampton in the early/mid 50s and used to drag me along to watch. Bored out of my mind so spent the afternoon train-spotting by the railway line that in those days ran alongside the pitches. Saw about 2 trains all afternoon.Castlecroft !
Did you take that photo, Frank? Looks a tad damp - hope that you had a coat on....

Anyone who lived in the Cottage Lane area of Fordhouses at the time may remember him living in what I assume was a club owned house. I "think" he liked the odd half of shandy... Ended up many years later doing football training for kids at Butlins. On his day (not that often) as good a mid field player as I have seen down here.Funnily enough Hegan is my family name
Always thought it would be cool to get a shirt with Hegans name and number on the back
There was a few lived round that estate in Fordhouses round that time...on my manor as I say ....used to walk up Cottage lane for school and me Nan lived round the corner.....posh wor we on the footballers estate...Anyone who lived in the Cottage Lane area of Fordhouses at the time may remember him living in what I assume was a club owned house.
