It’s that time again! The best thing about having terrible managers is we get to have this thread!

Simple really… sack edwards, yes or no?

There's no point sacking him now. It's not going to change anything.
And who on earth would take the job.

But he should be replaced immediately after the season is finished: we need a high-calibre manager to oversee a complete rebuild at Molineux, and Edwards isn't that guy.

Although I do fear he will remain in place and end-up getting fired in November.
The usual Fosun cycle of making difficult decisions far too late.

If Jeff had fired VP after 5 or 6 games and brought in the right replacement we could have been in a different situation right now.

I can’t be bothered to vote.

We all know he’ll be gone by Christmas, so this charade the club is playing that he’s setting us up for success next season is getting tiresome.

Appoint the right manager and we might be in the playoff mix or better next season. Stick with Edwards and we’ll be in no man’s land or worse this time next year.

It’s plain for all to see, all the markers point to this.

Sack him within the hour utterly clueless.

Yes sack him now or at least once relegation confirmed (it is already in reality) and as above said put Rui in charge and take time to appoint someone with the ability to get us up at first try with a decent budget. Because a sure as poo RE don't have it in him. He was a joke last night on tv after the game laughing/joking and grinning with fellow pundits, it's embarasing.

Pretty much my mood as well.

However, I have no confidence in our football brains trust bringing in the right manager post-Edwards.

We still have a CEO with no football knowledge and what I've seen so far of Matt Jackson makes me feel even less confident than Matt Hobbs and his big managerial idea was Mick Beale.

If/when Edwards goes, I don't see him tapping up Mendes for a solution or conducting an ambitious global search for a good candidate. It'll almost certainly be another homegrown "good bloke". If we get "lucky" it'll be Dyche - more awful football - but with some credibility of promotion and PL survival. If we don't, it'll be Mick Beale Mk II, maybe Russell Martin or suchlike.

As other posters have said, I would fire him when relegation is confirmed which, if my prediction for next five pans out, will be as early as this time next month. Tick tock...

In time honoured Mol Mix tradition - I thought Dave Jones was a good manager, in fact I really rated him. He's the size of a small country now.

I think RE is an OK manager, I wouldn't sack him at the moment.

Awful manager who has failed miserably in his short time here and that is taking into account the terrible hand he was left by his predecessor and Stupid Jeff. Any serious contender would have got more out of this squad. The sooner he leaves us the better.

I have been wondering if he definitely needs to go if we lose to Grimsby on Sunday. It could be our modern day Chorley moment. I can't help thinking we might be better off appointing an interim manager until the end of the season and then having a fresh start for next season without carrying forward the baggage from this one. I wonder if Big Sam fancies a short stint at his supposed favourite club?

Working with one of the ****test squads in top flight history.

Iv got no real opinion on him either way, but still getting backed by the away end last night.
This is the thing to always remember on here.

I read people saying it was worse than Everton under O'Neil. At Everton they didn't dare come anywhere near the fans at the end of the game. Last night everyone stayed and clapped them off and Edwards ended up front and centre. There's no clamour from people at the match for him to go, even though most are just wishing for it all to be over.

I was one of the people who said, 'Let's give him a chance; he could not be any worse than VP.' I have now given him that chance, and it is rinse repeat every game, do NOTHING in the first half, and the last 5 mins of the game attack if we are losing, the stats clearly show this, we have more shots in the last 5 mins and injury time than we do through the entire game sometimes.

It's boring and negative with no future for the championship; he needs to be replaced right now.

I will also add that it was posted somewhere already. Boro, since RE left them, have improved in every aspect of their game statistically and are now top of the championship.

Lovely guy and would welcome as part of the coaching staff, but as a manager, no thank you.

That's because it's all relative. After the Everton game (which I agree is the worst performance in the Fosun era) we still had a shot at survival, and we ultimately did after appointing Pereira, who himself would end up in a furious tête-à-tête with the fans. This situation however is hopeless and every fan knows it, owing largely to events that precede Edwards, which is something that works in his favour.

However, if Edwards had started the season with a record of P15, W1, D4, L10, scored 9, with 23 games left to save the season (and had served up that garbage last night), my Spidey senses tell me he wouldn't be quite so comfortable approaching the fans front and centre...

I was on the fence but the last couple of games has changed my mind.

Nathan needs to go big, get his own man in and start afresh in the summer.

If we can't get rid of fosun, at the very least I want every trace of Jeff Shi gone from this football club including the man he appointed as manager.

I would wait until the summer though, that's the only caveat.

Whether now or in the summer, we simply need someone better if we are expecting an immediate return

He's a poor manager but is likely to stay for at least the first dozen games of next season.

No point sacking him now.

If Fosun plan to spend in the summer on some real quality to get us back up, then I'd be looking for someone towards the end of the season.

You happy to languish in the championship on the basis of giving him a chance? Way too much of a risk imo.
No but youve also got to be realistic to the position hes taken on. Look at the owners who have consistently sold our best players. Theres the problem

Based on the lack of signs of any real "progression" he needs to go.

I am absolutely bored ********* with what I am seeing on the pitch - I don't think I can even be bothered making my 4-hour round trip to home games now.
RE has been in charge since late November and I see little to no improvement. I've seen nothing to suggest he has an identity as to how we should be playing.

Do I think he will get us straight back up? Simple answer is NO.
And even by some miracle - if he does then its more than likely we will get rinsed every game back in the Premiership with him in charge.

Unless there is a radical shift in Fosun's football strategy, then I expect Edwards to be here to stay. I for one, will not be renewing my ST next season.

I haven't answered because I don't see why sacking someone now will help.
He's got to get the team playing better between now and May to stay in the job really.

Shi needs to listen to the fans, very simple.

At the time of writing this post, its 94% want him out.
This is the point of the thread. When 95% think the manager should go, there is no coming back from it. Nathan might decide to give him a bit longer, but we all know that he's now a dead man walking: there is no coming back from this. He is a proven coward of a manager.

Personally, I wouldn't mind if Nathan keeps him on to take as much flak as possible between now and the end of the season, and then gets rid around May time, along with Matt Jackson.

I'd be talking to Tomas Frank now - and tempting him with a nice rest until June, and then he has a blank page to rebuild as he sees fit.

What was you expecting him to do with the team he inherited? Point the finger at who has sold off all our best players and replaced them with substandard signings
Dull as ditchwater football which is exactly what we’ll get next season as he is incapable of setting his teams up to attack.
