Forum with Edwards Shi and Jackson

They will push the narrative of young and hungry British based players because thats what the boys club want. People will lap it up. Unless there is some fundamentally unique way that has been thought up that no one else does it will be doomed to failure, as its what everyone else does and we arent exactly unique, paying more or have such facilities that open up avenues to the elite clubs. What stops the big clubs doing what they do now hoovering up the best British talent? us being the apex of the mendes production line actually has a chance as we are at least by proxy of fosun part owners of his agency.
This is the insanity of the whole 'cutting ties with Mendes' philosophy. When Fosun came in it was basically their cheat code to success. If you aren't going to use it then basically you're saying 'we're going to do what everyone else does, but better', which hardly feels convincing in the circumstances!

Problem is the boys club who've forced their way back into the club don't like it.

No disrespect mate but I think those are the type of questions we need to avoid. Sudu is the least of our worries at the current time. I think we need to focus on the plans for promotion etc. The sort of questions to be asking would be:
  • You mentioned previously that we would be doing what it takes (paraphrasing) to get promotion at the first attempt - what does that look like in practical terms?
  • Nathan you've been in position for a few months now, are you convinced we have the personnel in-house capable of overseeing the squad rebuild necessary for a serious promotion push? I ask this as many fans are concerned and not convinced that we do.
  • What have we learned - as a club - in our journey of decline over the past 4/5 years that has seen us go from being a top 7 Premier League club to relegation to the Championship and what would we do different assuming we attain PL status?
  • And more broadly can you outline Fosun's plans for Wolves?
This should be the entire evening's questions. Nothing else.

I'd love to be there as Paxman style figure. I'd not allow any of these snakes to avoid a straight answer.

Sadly, none of those questions will be answered with honesty and those protecting their links with the club will just let it go. They aren't going to allow years of building their channels to go down the chute.

Don't pretend to know everything but that is general sentiment

Hence the forum on the 12th being booked well in advance with Rob attending

Hes been told he will get summer go rebuild and set in motion plans and this was always the plab on bringing him in

Unless something drastically changes from above cant see anything different

Unless mendes shoehorn in to put say a Luis in I see only Rob lining up in August
Is he making a comeback?

I personally wouldn’t be polite and would go for the jugular.

“We have witnessed a decline in the club that is directly attributable to one man, who had no experience in running a football club, take on the management and decision making at every level and systematically failed at every point along the way. We have witnessed an ever decreasing level in the quality of players on the pitch and the coaching and management team, the recruitment structure has gone from being jealously envied to a complete catastrophe and our development of the academy has gone backwards. The current hierarchy at the club has proven failure stamped all over it. Now being specific can you tell me, Nathan, what, Fosun intend to do to rid us of this failed structure and culture that, if left in place, will no doubt relegate us again next season, and what will you change to make us realistic promotion candidates and not repeat the previous mistakes that have turned us into iCan you be very specific in your answer?”

If you tried saying that mouthful, I doubt if to they'd let you get beyond the first ten words.

I would ask Edwards - if he’s there whether he has a style of play that he prefers and what can fans expect from the team next season? After he’s given the initial platitudes of winning games etc hopefully supplementary questions can be asked related to how. He can’t go into next season thinking we can play 10 behind the ball and nick a goal on the break.

I am hoping that Edwards will be gone but he needs to answer.

“ We will work hard, we will work hard everyday.”
Will be the answer to every question put to Deadwards.

You’ll just get a load of nonsense as an answer.

Exactly the sort of arrogance from the club which will cost them massively in lost ST renewals..... and if l don't renew l have zero intention of buying matchday tickets. **** Fosun and their apologists.
Don't remember it being played during the Jack Hayward or Steve Morgan years ! The club, not matter who is in charge, just don't want it - don't see that as arrogant.

whatever the questions are, they will be answered in a way to win back some of the more moderate fans and try to move to a happy family (while maximising season ticket sales).

We all know the script… the promises just never happen, it’s death by a thousand cuts until we realise that actually it was all bullsit and Fosun are just going into another repeat cycle.

My fears were that this is our one big chance to jump straight back up, and I was worried that Rob Edwards would
blow that chance.

Nathan Shi’s behaviour in post has betrayed the fact that there’s not even going to be a big chance for Rob to blow - and they might as well keep the cosy club forever.

Maybe 'is the club in a financial position to buy players this Summer before we sell?'.

If Nathan says we are then it'll save all the waffle later about how we couldn't do business early.

If Nathan says no, look at Jackson's face.

Exactly this, we had the cards stacked very much in our favour last time, thats how we won the league so comfortably with players who had no right to be playing at this level - we also 'stumbled' on a manager who was able to build self belief and a team that believed in itself.

Non of this was Fosun or Jeff per say, they just oversaw it. They have failed everytime they have tried to go alone, whilst you pay for Mendes every once in a while you also benefit greatly.

I think its obvious we are in a position to buy before selling as that was the premise of not doing much January business
We still have some sales money not accounted for in last seasons figures, plus a very small loss on the 12 monthly statement
Plus parachute payments that puts us in a very healthy position
Thats before the expected clear out
They have no excuses this time,so over to you Nathan

We’ve lurched from one disastrous appointment to the next, seemingly with no forward planning. Most are in agreement that we need a radical overhaul to turn this club around.

“All successful organisations and businesses have robust succession planning in place. In the event that Edwards or Jackson leave the club, either through their choice or yours, do you have a list of realistic potential replacements already in place.”

Maybe something about the structure at the top of the club would be more appropriate, but until we change those in the key positions, we are only going in one direction.

I’m very much an “action speaks louder than words” guy so I don’t hold out much interest in this.

Whilst I congratulate the club for being brave enough (or naive enough) to do this I don’t really see the point. For me there’s a few likely scenarios:

1) They vet the questions on the night. Which if they do is pointless.

2) it’s a truly open forum and some very difficult questions are asked. Which will result in lots of deflection and lots of positive talk about the future. Again pretty pointless for me as the proof will be in the action in the summer so doing a forum now seems ridiculous.

3) someone sees sense and cancels the event beforehand which is suicide for them.

If 1 or 2 happens, it just feels like a massive PR exercise. I’d rather they say absolutely nothing and show their actions in the summer.

I agree its a PR exercise, they always are,but the fans wanted more dialogue with the people at the top so they have it
There will be no direct answers just deflection, its a bit like PM questions, never a straight answer, just blame who was there before you
As you say the proof is in the actions not words, this summer will interesting if just for that reason

i don't believe for one minute we are going to get anything but false promises and waffle. The club is in a total mess with a really poor playing squad and a manager who likes to play with the breaks on. Unless they get the recruitment spot on and RE changes his tactics i fear for another very long season.

I hope the Liquidator isn't brought up because judging by the recent minutes, the answer will be used to waste 20 minutes that could be spent on more pertinent questions.
If anyone mentions the ****ing Liquidator I implore those attending to start booing or shout 'you're not fit to hold the mic' etc

We need clarity on:

1. Ownership and commitment including 3rd party minority shareholding

2. The vision, advanced plans and swift action in squad rebuild. The players we are targeting are unlikely to be distracted by World Cup commitments

3. Concrete (excuse the pun) plans on stadium upgrade/rebuild

4. Confirmation that Jeff has no input into the football club

1) Are you still actively looking for investment from additional parties? If so is this for minority share or has the policy shifted to Majority?

2) Has any discussion with a third party ownership broken down due to businesses within Fosun group use of the Wolves brand which do not directly contribute to Wolves finances ie have we faced difficulties in selling the club due to the brands use by other business associated with Fosun that Wolves have no control over

3) Our previous promotion relied on utilising strong connections with GestiFute, do we plan to follow similar proven pathway or do the club intend to go it alone?

4) Do we plan to build an Football experienced hierarchy at the club who have proven success/experience within Football

5) How the **** did we sign such **** during the summer, and who signed off on the complete bunch on toss **** whilst keeping a straight face and pulling paying fans pants down going in dry without even the common curtsy to spit on it or even the thought of a reach around? PS give us the liquidator back

If I were asking the questions I'd definitely leave them in that order, or if you think it too controversial leave out Q4...

I don't know how clear it is really.

If I understand the accounts, we owed about £70m to the bank at the end of the accounts. They might want to clear some or all of that.

We also owed £82m in future payments for players. Obviously there's cash to come in on loads of sales, but that's a cashflow thing, the money is already accounted.

Add on to that the fact that we bought lots of players last Summer after the accounting period closed (whereas Cunha and RAN are in the last accounts).

Really I'm not expecting anything very concrete of course, nailing them to anything solid is something. Confirming it's still no redundancies would be good for the poor sods who have to work under them, because that feels like the ground development, stuff Jeff was throwing about randomly to try to save his skin.
