Fer López

Looks a very similar type of player to Trincao. I really liked Trincao and felt he was starting to get used to the demands of the PL towards the end of his time here.

Lopez isn’t quite as far along in his development as Trincao was when he joined us so hopefully we have a bit more patience this time round.
Yes watching his brief highlights I immediately thought he reminds me of Trincao or Alex Scott both young and left footed with natural ability, not a starter but able to bring him on when we need something different to try and open up a packed defence.

"Gabri Veiga gave us a full season, a lifeline, and at least he went off to rake in some serious cash...He rejected Juve a couple of years ago and now wants to leave at the first opportunity for Wolverhampton.I hope he makes the most of it and ends up with the same idiotic face as Larsen…"

That made me laugh
Larsen has an idiotic face?

Reminded me of the young lad Dibling down at Southampton.

In the final game of the La Liga season, he came on for Aspas, who was in the number 10 position, wearing the number 10 shirt.
I’m no Sherlock Holmes, but I’m guessing he might be seen as a number 10?

Maybe not a guaranteed starter straight away, but definitely think he’ll be coming to play regular football. He’s just broke into the Celta first team as one of their best young talents and they have Europa League football next season.

Would be a strange decision to leave all that behind with your boyhood club for a place rotting on our bench.
This is why we struggle every season, we are not getting ready-made players, but trying to groom them for a profit.

Celta fans are not happy, which suggests he might have something

They're not. One bloke wants 40 million, they keep him for a year, and get Fabio Silva on loan for 12 months.....

something about he'll be their best player in a few years, but has a reserve team contract and they should have signed him up and given him a pay rise before now.

If he’s so good makes me wonder no others wanted him

Seems like they gave him a 4 year contract with a €40m release clause last Summer, so doubt that's really true.

Fabio as a straight swap I'd go for though!

Well as far as accounting , ffp etc he will be
Clearly. My point is if we look at net spend then this shouldn’t really be used in an argument as to what we have invested, unless we factor in last season too.

Loan with option to buy similar deal to JSL would seem about right.
From his YouTube reel it looks like he enjoys running at defenders and can get a pass away.

like they didn't want Andre or Joao Gomes and they're now worth double or treble, and Athletico were glad to see the back of Cunha as nobody else wanted him at his price, and he's been sold on for 50% more.
Apart from this is another kid like Fabio and only started 4 games in La liga?

Player with Potential

Il reserve my concerns until I see him play

“AI -
Fer López, a Spanish midfielder for Celta Vigo, has played 13 La Liga games in the 2024/2025 season, scoring 2 goals. He debuted in La Liga on December 6, 2024. His most recent La Liga appearance was on April 23, 2025, where he scored a goal. He was not called up for Spain U21 duty for the European Championship.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
  • La Liga Debut: Fer López debuted for Celta Vigo in La Liga on December 6, 2024, against Mallorca.

  • Playing Time: In the 2024/2025 season, he has played 13 La Liga games, with 4 starts and 9 appearances as a substitute.

  • Goal Scoring: He has scored 2 goals in La Liga this season, one against Mallorca and another against Villarreal.

  • Yellow Cards: He has received 2 yellow cards in La Liga.

  • Transfer Interest: Sky Sports reported that Wolves are interested in signing Fer López.“

Obviously youtube clips can be misleading but he looks to be athletic and reasonably physical. Not blistering pace but not slow either. Whether he can cut it in the Premier league but it's the kind of signing we need to look at, talented but with room to improve.
Well need at least one more 10, preferably with a bit more experience.

Fabio should go for way more than the sort of fees being quoted given the level of interest in him. I'm sure that he has bigger destinations than Celta in mind too.

Rubbish - we battled off Lyon for João and lots of clubs were interested in Andre.

To be fair having seen the other pic of JSL on hols with this lad if I’ve done my facial recognition right the other two look decent! LOL!

I think thats not a bad comparison tho' he appears to have a bit more physicality about him than Trincao.

Was really excited about this signing until you told me he looks similar to Trincao. ;)
