Diogo inducted into the Hall of Fame. Not sure I agree with this as it seems more to do with his tragic death than what he achieved at Wolves. The Hall of Fame should be for our legends and while we all sympathise with Diogo going too early; I would argue that he's not a legend.
Don’t agree with you there mate.Diogo inducted into the Hall of Fame. Not sure I agree with this as it seems more to do with his tragic death than what he achieved at Wolves. Fair enough. I respect your disagreement.Don’t agree with you there mate.
@wolfslair has pointed out his achievements. The problem is how do you define a legend these days? We haven’t had much success since the late 70s but we need to keep the current fans engaged and connected to our former players.
The heights we reached under Nuno might never be matched for another generation so those players responsible For that success should be recognised.
Take your points, but I refer you to the reply I gave to Boss Hogg.Integral part of our promotion season
key in our two 7th places
Major part of our European journey, scoring a hatrick and great goals on the way.
Massively deserved place for him!
One day Ruben will have a spot right next to his late best friend in there where he also belongs.
Would add Raul to that list of people who deserve a place one day!
I would argue “special circumstances”. We are all human, and those that run the club are no different.Diogo inducted into the Hall of Fame. Yes, I agree that the decision was made on different grounds to all of the other inductees. Whether that is the right thing to do is the point.I would argue “special circumstances”. We are all human, and those that run the club are no different.
Some of the other "legends" in reality did far less.Don’t agree with you there mate.

Would you then induct all of Nuno's squad including the coaches? They were all part of winning the Championship (second division). It is a hall of fame, not a hall of legends
With him recently passing, it feels very appropriate to do it now.
You say reserved for “those that won things for us” well he won us the championship………
So based on your own qualification criteria, he won us a league winners trophy so fully deserves his place on that alone.
And yes i believe like i said Ruben deserves to go in there as does Raul in the future
Their team was historic and brought the magic back to many again who may have lost their way.
I will always be thankful for Diogo and what he did and he deserves every accolade in this sense
Would you then induct all of Nuno's squad including the coaches? They were all part of winning the Championship (second division).
Nuno's squad including of course Diogo won the Championship, but nothing else. They got to the FA Cup semi, Europa QF and Premier 7th. Good, but not great.
As for winning the Champ/second Division, should Chung's squad be inducted?
I'd keep the HoF for greater achievements, personally.
We didn't win much when Bully was playing but I can't imagine many calling for him to be excluded. Some of the other "legends" in reality did far less.
You see, I would induct Nuno into the HoF. He achieved more than any other Wolves manager in 35-40 years. It’d probably take a new ownership before it happens though.Fair enough. I respect your disagreement.
But if Diogo, why not Boly or Raul or Neves (who Wolfslair mentioned)? They were integral to getting us promoted and getting us to Europe, but so were others. Should the whole squad plus Nuno and his large coaching staff be inducted?
Personally I think while getting us promoted and up to seventh in the Prem was the best that a generation of Wolves' fans had experienced; previous Wolves' players and managers did more. It was good, but not outstanding!
I just think that the HoF should be kept for the best of Wolves, our legends and those that won things for us. Nuno and his squad were good at the time, but they don't justify HoF status.
Why though? You see, I would induct Nuno into the HoF. He achieved more than any other Wolves manager in 35-40 years. It’d probably take a new ownership before it happens though.

I'm very close to someone who is on the HOF committee and one of the few who gets a vote, there has been a lot of talks about including staff , even fans in some capacity in there ..or doing something similar for these people....The HoF probably reflects more than just on field achievements. Diogo was clearly loved across the football world, not just at Wolves. He's a worthy inclusion, as others would be.
If i had my way, i'd be including staff at the club in the HoF as well.
Agreed. Can we stick to what this thread is for please, by all means start a separate thread for other discussion. This thread is about Jota's memorial and tributes
its gone way OT
